It’s time for to exhale with the Was It Good Though Podcast crew and friends! In Episode 129 we go down memory lane with what Anthony of the “Talkin Ish” Podcast calls “Nxggxs Ain’t Shxt, The Motion Picture” as we discuss the cultural imprint “Waiting To Exhale” has played in not only the black community but on the entertainment and Hollywood as an industry.

Of course we have to get to the nitty gritty and we had to ask, Is the Waiting of Exhale soundtrack the best soundtrack? The ladies explain what feminism was for black women in the 90s and the importance of the friend group. Did John Sr hate his blackness ? If you changed the race of the leads, does this movie still work? “Savannah that’s a GOOD MAN!” Shows big momma was a bit out of touch, was 90s films where we could see the huge difference in modern women and the generations before? Did Bernie and James Wheeler , get sexual? We get to these questions and more in this lastest , 2 part episode of the Was It Good Though Podcast!

This week we're reviewing possibly the best series of 2024, The Penguin. We had to bring in our brothers Chappell from  @RecapKickback  to join us in the discussion, along with three time back to back guest  @Jedimike7  . Before we dug into The Penguin, we had to get everyone's thoughts on The Batman film and if he was missed in this series. It's safe to say, the group felt like the absence of Batman didn't take anything away from this series. We broke down our thoughts of Os, as a person and a villain, along with how loyalty in Gotham is a waste of time. Discussion not only The Penguin, but also the casting of our future Green Lantern and the discourses that was caused. Was it warranted?? We get into this week and ask the most important question, Was Is Good Though?

Let's continue our walk down the road...we made sure to bring up where the MCU is today and some fumbles that were made. Will the success of Agatha open doors for less multi-million dollar projects? Will be see Jen in any future projects, and was Rio completely down bad over Agatha? The road was chaotic for the "Coven-less Witch" but we made sure to not turn on each other...too much. We're fresh off the 2024 election results, so emotions were high but the nerd energy was flowing. We are back with another TUESDAY DROP! The crew starts off discussing the issues with trilogies and sequels and why and how they miss the mark. Ivy is back to chat and he tells us about his “Wipe Me Down” cycling class. And yes the crew is is diiscussing what people are calling the best horror movie of the year, “Smile 2.” We discuss the intro was and how does the entity chooses it’s victim in a room of victims , which retroactively speaking, plays with a larger theme at the end. We have to discuss the main character Skye, played by Naomi Scott. We debate if she was working on herself truly, or not. Ivy discusses the lack of discernment between Skye and Louis and why she chose to stay with him, as opposed to leaving. We all pick Naomi’s Oscar winning scene from the film. If you’re a new listener , or an old listener , Jason hates flashback, so we talk about if they worked or not within this film. The jump scares are cheap thrills, we discuss if “Smile” utilizes them properly or poorly. We discuss the ending , was it predictable? Is the next film going to go larger or will it be scaled back? Would you like the Smile entity in a tv show? We discuss why horror doesn’t get love at the Academy. We also debate which entity would we rather deal with , Candyman , Evil Dead or the Smile Entity. We're semi closing out our Spooky Season with a double feature, Strange Darling and Blink Twice. These films add a "Spooky Element" when it comes to dating. A light shinning on the dangers both Men and Women face when meeting complete strangers and allowing their security walls to come down. We brought in returning guess, KC and Chris to join us in the discussion where hormones, luxury, and glamor can cause someone to ignore the red flags and put themselves in immediate danger. We asked, "Why would she?", "Why did he?", and of course, "Was It Good Though?".

No weapon formed as against McDonalds shall proper! Yes we kick this epsiode off with the Golden Arches but in episode 124 we are discussing Speak No Evil, the horror thriller starring James Macavoy with special guest Shawn! We also want to show love and support tho all those effected by Hurricane Milton. The crew gets into the most disappointing movie and begin at the top discussing Joker 2. We breakdown the 2 families in the film and the glaring differences between. There were a plethora of red flags I’m this movie , but which one is deterring you? Who’s winning a fight, Me Crockett or Candy Man? And of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH?!

Happy Horror Month!! For Episode 123, we had to do a horror movie panel, which means we had to bring in some of our friends that love horror. A major shoutout to Lisa ( @NXGGLOBALPRODUCTIONS  ), Chris (@Chrislaflare), and Shawn(@Kingshawn901), for joining us. This panel discussed 2023 Vs 2024 Horror, Horror Movie Mount Rushmore, and our Top 10 horror movies within the past 10 years. We got into our Black Led Horror movie bag, along with Prequels Vs Sequels. Our favorite horror movies were shared but let us know, What Is Your Favorite Scary Movie and Was It Good Though??

It’s our favorite time of the year, and Halloween is approaching so we are keeping it SCARY this month! We have created a watch list and sharing a different movie every day for 31 days to discuss and engage with our friends and fans of the pod alike! Episode 122 were discussing one of Jazz’s underrated favorites SKELETON KEY and Jason’s first time watch! We stroll down the memory lane of the 2000s. The crew gets into Caroline (Kate Hudson) a caretaker at a Hospice center wanting more from her job and taking an in house job to do the same job but “with care!” We also discuss the late great John Amos and the fiasco surrounding his death. If you had to pick between , Get Out and The Skeleton what are you choosing? Is The Skeleton Key a BLACK HORROR movie? Helen Keller did what? And more but the reason why we’re here WAS IT GOOD THOUGH?!? and got the month of October, WAS IT SCARY THOUGH?!
