Is it possible to create a great sequel 36 years after the original?? To bring the same uniqueness, creativity, sarcasm, and characters into this new film?? For episode 121, we're discussing Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and we answer all those questions. We had to bring back KC to join in the discussion and as a collective, we wanted to make sure to match the energy of the movie. Minus the "Shucking and Jiving", we made sure to leave that to Burton. We mentioned some of our favorite characters, scenes that were OVER THE TOP, and of course, Was It Good Though??
Episode 120 the crew has a special double feature of the Shyamalan’s “Trap” written by M Night Shyamalan and his daughter’s Debut film “The Watchers” written by Ishana Shyamalan! We also brought back our homie and friend of the show, KC! We get in to Cooper and the plot armor he had. Jazz opens our third eye with her overarching theme of what the movie really meant. The crew also let’s us know which artist are losing it for and they eat what?!? And yes Jazz really said that about “Rebel Ridge” star Aaron Pierre. We see if the twist of the film hit for us. We discuss M Night Shyamalan’s daughter (Saleka Shyamalan) as Lady Raven, the concert converted into a “trap” for Cooper played by Josh Hartnett. We discuss what the hell were those creatures in that Forrest and if “The Watchers” was a good vibe watch. Do all movies where an animal is attached to the lead, does it make you think it’ll end in tragedy? The decision making in “The Watchers” wasn’t the best, much more and of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!??
This week we're discussing The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs. With this being a remake, we of course have to discuss the original Crow, starring the late Brandon Lee. There were a few "head scratching" moments that were discussed, lack of chemistry between our leads, and if the villain was a big fan of the Ying Yang Twins. We mention some of our favorite remakes and the ones that should have never been created. It's safe to say, our "Was It Good Though?" answer was given before we asked the question.
Are you ready for some football!? Welcome to the Was It Good Though, the podcast about movies and tv shows however this week we’re focusing on SPORTS and film . We bring back our guy John (@jaymoviemsnia) to discuss “Any Given Sunday” for our 118th episode. The crew pledges their alliances just in time for the football season and discuss this classic football film. We discuss who’s characters have a great portrayal and some we just didn’t buy. Is Willie beaman a random character or was there motivation for his character? Why isn’t the NFL the richest sports league ? Why did Jason almost miss this episode . The crew also discusses Jamie Foxx and Denzel’s movie roles since their Oscar wins, but most importantly WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!!!
We're causing damage this week, we're reviewing Twisters for episode 117. This is out first natural disaster movie and we of course mentioned our favorite Natural Disaster films. Was Javi just a man chilling in the "friend zone" too long and did enough people lose their lives during this film, were some of the top questions asked during this episode. We share elements that we would have changed and even a few cool ideas, DO NOT STEAL OUR S***. But get buckled in for this chaotic and ask, Was It Good Though???
For Episode 115, we're taking it back to the 90s with Boomerang starring Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens, and Halle Barry. This was a special one because our folks over at the Talkin'Ish!: A Podcast Amongst Friends came through to join in the discussion. WARNING, this episode does go off the rails and takes various wild turns. But isn't that what a boomerang does anyway?? We made sure to match the energy with this one, so get ready. Did Marcus deserve a happy ending? Was it wrong for him to get with Angela? And what movie would you consider "Peak Eddie Murphy"? It get's wild but in the end, we always make sure to ask, "Was It Good Though?"
We are back with our 114th episode and we are discussing the latest and greatest in horror, according to critics and social media, Longlegs from writer and director Osgood Perkins. With this episode we had to enlist two of friends and horror movie aficionados and currently our only BACK TO BACK guest! Lisa, owner of NXG Global Productions, you can also watch her written, produced, directed TV show ZOMBIE CHRONICLES on Tubi and you can follow her at @ReelMovieLovers and also our brother in fandom, Chris @ChrisLaFlare. The crew gets into the intro of the film and if Lee Harker(Maika Moore) should've really been in her field. If you have seen the film, what movies did you think it was influenced from. There was a lot of people upset with the supernatural elements of the film, would it have been better if it were a slasher. We catch Jason up in more contradictions when it comes to his favorites, we discuss our favorite decade of horror as well as our favorite horror of the current decade , but most importantly WAS IT GOOD THOUGH
We started this season with Episode 1 titled, “A Son for a Son” and ended with Episode 8 titled, “The Queen Who Ever Was”, a son was taken but that’s about it. We get right into this finale and our thoughts on the entire season. Our hosts get right to it in this episode, so get ready. Was Alicent’s story stretch too far? Did we need Tyland so much in this finale? And who’s going to be the one to take Ulf out?? Is Heleana truly Team Black?? Just a few questions that were asked during this review. Let us know your thoughts on this season and if you’re excited for Season 3
"All Pie, is Good Pie", for Episode 113 we're discussing Netflix's Hit Man. We have a special guest joining us this week, Lisa from NXG Global Productions and the Reel Movie Lovers. We discuss some of our favorite Glen Powell movies, the biggest villain in the film and our favorite movies where the villains won. We get right into this one and have a bunch of laughs on how so many people are comfortable with hiring a complete stranger to murder their loved one. We definitely get to it and ask the most important question, Was It Good Though?
