Our full-size Noah’s Ark at the Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky depicts the ark as a massive wooden ship. Many people wonder why we didn’t build the ark in a box shape.
Well, the Bible doesn’t give us very many details about the ark. It gives the dimensions and a few other small features. Now, these don’t imply it was a box. After all, we can use dimensions to describe a car but that doesn’t mean it’s box-shaped.
We designed our Ark as a ship because that shape and features like keels provide the maximum in comfort and stability.
Since the Bible doesn’t tell us, we can’t be dogmatic about the ark’s shape.
