The Bible records that a group of people, called the Moabites, descended from Abraham’s nephew, Lot. But, at one time, there was a question among archaeologists about whether or not these people actually existed.
Now, as Christians, we can say that if the Bible records their existence, they really did live because the Bible is always true. And, sure enough, later research uncovered inscriptions from Moabite kings—including one that even mentions—by name—a king recorded in the Bible itself!
Such findings remind us that God’s Word can be trusted. It’s a book of history, and the people it records, really did live!
