But the Bible’s history explains why there was an ice age. During the global flood of Noah’s day there was intense volcanic activity. This warmed the oceans but threw ash into the atmosphere, blocking the sun. Warm water means lots of evaporation, but cool air means it comes down as snow and doesn’t melt. Snow built up, forming glaciers. As the earth settled back down these glaciers retreated to the poles where they are now.
