Dr. Federico Asch of MedStar Washington Hospital Center discusses with Dr. Ron Waksman a study comparing the ability of human and artificial intelligence (AI) echocardiography analysis to predict outcomes in acute COVID-19 patients. The study, which was presented as a late-breaking trial at ACC.21 Virtual, found that AI-based analyses of left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular longitudinal strain showed a significant decrease in variance and accurately predicted in-hospital and follow-up mortality and follow-up mortality.
