Ryan grew up in Lisbon, Iowa not to far from Iowa City, and was a member of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club from an early age. He stood out in high school winning 3 state championships and eventually decided on the Hawkeyes. He talks in depth about that decision and the recruiting of Tom Brand to Virginia Tech. He performed at elite levels as a Hawk and got into coaching soon after his career ended which has landed him in IC now coaching for the Black and Gold. Ryan talks about the Brands brothers, what makes them special, his favorite memories from both wrestling and coaching, 2 sport recruit Ben Kueter, the Iowa fanbase, and a whole lot more.

He developed into one of the best players in country during his 4 years in Iowa City, locking that status down by officially winning NPOTY in his senior season. Matt was born in Phoenix AZ but grew up and graduated an Iowa boy, spending his prep years at Dowling Catholic High School. Kluver competed in travel sports as kids against Matt, who happens to be one of Jon Wiz's best friends from Dowling. Kluver and Matt would later play in Shrine Bowl together before heading off to college. Matt was a talented athlete with some interest as a WR but happened into a boom of Punting interest his junior year. This odd skill landed him a scholarship at Arizona State University where he would go on to start for 3 years and play next to college great Zane Gonzalez. Matt was picked up as a free agent after graduating and has now spent 6 seasons in the NFL with 4 teams. We discuss his wild rise to the League, the ins and outs of special teams in the NFL, the contrast between organizations and a whole lot more!

One of our most frequent guests on the show Jeremiah Sirles joins us today. Sirles played for the Huskers in the early 2010s. Went on to have an extended NFL career where he spent times with multiple teams including the Dolphins, Chargers, Vikings, and Bills. He now does work with the Husker radio network and sports media department in Lincoln, as well as creating some of his own media content on the side. And, as of last year, officially became an NFL agent which is what most of todays conversation is focused around. Zach, brother of Tyler, is also from Marshalltown but ended up going to high school in Ankeny, playing for Jaguars of Centennial. He never planned on playing college football, until a coach recruiting Riley Moss, his high school teammate, mentioned something to Tyler in late 2017. That sparked a multi year process of scratching and clawing his way into the program. His career lasted 2 years before he decided to move on, but sits as an example of how many, maybe the majority of walk on careers actually play out. And highlights the effort and work put in regardless of shining in the spotlight of college football like the star players. Zach also talks about when the racial discrimination drama hit Iowa, and what it was like for him and several of his teammates who were 8 weeks fresh in the program- and what the team meeting was like that day it all went down.
