Netflix has released a time-lapse video showcasing Jacob Elordi's extensive transformation into Frankenstein's Monster for Guillermo del Toro's film. The process involved 42 prosthetic pieces for his full body, with 14 on his head and neck, and took 10 hours to apply for each of the 50 times it was done, totaling 500 hours in the makeup chair. Prosthetic artist Mike Hill explained his vision was to make the inside of a human body visible on the outside, creating literal seams in the monster's skin to show he was "man-made" and "tailored." Despite the elaborate makeup, Hill emphasized the importance of maintaining the monster's soul and Elordi's performance. The film is now streaming on Netflix.[1]
