Luke 9:27-42. How you ever wondered if there is more to life than your daily grind? You know, something, anything more than the drudgery of each passing day. There are times that we can all be so overwhelmed with the cares of this world, and the troubles that come with it, that we forget our actual reality, future hope, lay within the kingdom of God and the hope found in the glory of her King. But we can become so concerned with the troubles around us that we forget to, as cliche as it may sound, trust in Jesus for everything. He is greater than any trial or pain. Jesus is our sure rescue and our greatest joy! He is our hope of heaven and our coming King! Keep your eyes looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. (Heb. 12:2) Place your steadfast devotion and allegiance in the coming King as you behold in His face the glory of the Lord and are transformed from glory to glory by the Spirit of the living God. (2 Cor. 3:18) When this happens the troubles of this world begin to dim in the light of His wonderful and glorious grace.

1. What is the significance of the donkey that Jesus rode in on, being unridden before? I understand it was prophesied by Zechariah, but I am wondering if there I any significance to it not being ridden before.

Revelation 4:1-11. There is a promise of hope to all who suffer in this life. Especially those who suffer for Jesus. Because our suffering is never wasted. It produces character and our rich character in Christ produces hope. (Rom 5:1-5) Hope in God and the promise of heaven keep us, give us joy, and keep us motivated to be about the business of the Kingdom of God. So, as things around the globe seem to be waxing worse and worse, or at least that is what the media would like us all to believe, we can be assured that evil will not continue unchecked long-term. So don't lose heart. God will intervene and bring about justice and righteousness through His coming judgment upon the wicked and will put all things in order once again. Wickedness will be judged and righteousness will be rewarded. Where will you and I be in all this? That depends on what kingdom you choose. The kingdom of darkness or the kingdom of light. But before "the other shoe drops" there is still time to change our allegiance to God and His Kingdom and when we do there is a great promise to us. A divine and loving rescue from the judgment that is about to be poured out on the world.

I know for sure someone made money, it just was not me. Today, in our tech-savvy world, we are all suffering the frustration and wrath of phone scammers trying to take advantage of the uninformed and at a great cost to many. God help us! So many desire all the things this world offers them in money, power, prestige, and fame and are willing to do whatever they must to have it. They will lie, cheat, steal, and even kill if they think it will help them succeed where others have failed. But in the end, all those things will not satisfy their human need for a relationship with the Creator. Yet for most of them, their deep love of the world and worldly possessions have blinded them to their need for a savior of any kind. (1 John 2:15-17) In fact, their desires and actions are the things that will actually separate them from God in the end. (Is 59:2) The disciples of Jesus however are called to a different type of journey. One that is not rich with the things of this world but full of selflessness and worldly denial in order to know and follow Jesus. (Luke 9:23) They choose to live and love just, as He lived and loved, and are willing to follow Him not only in life but in death for the glory of God. So what are we living for? What are we willing to die for?
