Revelation 3:1-6. We can all be overly concerned about what people think of us. In fact, we spend more time thinking about what other people think about us than they actually think about us. We give away time, energy, and mental real-estate by worrying about so many things that just do not matter. But because of this, we try to create a false facade of our best self (just look at social media) that we choose to present to the world that is so far from the reality of pain and struggle we all experience. We try our best to look good on the outside but the reality is we are full of hurts, sorrows, and death just like the Pharisees were (Matt 23:37). We perseverate so deeply on external appearances that we forget to take care of the inner man that should be being renewed each day (2 Cor. 4:16). What is the solution? Real personal revival! We need to wake up and dust of the death and depravity of this world. Strengthen the things that we know to be right and true. Focus on and live for all the wonderful promises found in God's Word and live each day in a renewed personal revival with the love, joy, peace, and strength that we receive through the gift of God's Spirit until He comes.
