Luke 8:19-25. This life can be deeply troubling. Fears, anxieties, hurt, abandonment, and loneliness can overtake us like a flood in an instant. Yet, some storms in this life seem to relentlessly pound on our faith for years, even decades, slowly eroding away at our hope. We get pushed down, but still we get up. Then we experience the same hurts again and again, hoping to make sense of the senseless chaos that is overwhelming our senses. Eventually we feel like getting back up is not worth the pain of another hit. As our faith is shaken to its foundation we cry out to God for deliverance from the cold darkness and confusion of difficult days, months or even years. Many of us have come to a place in life that we thought we hit rock bottom only to find we had further to go. Sometimes our loving Savior takes us to our rock bottom so we will know that He is the Rock at the bottom. Life can be hard, but God is aways good!
