How can I be a witness for Christ at my work? I answer to two different supervisors who often contradict each other. I try to keep by cook but I feel like there's just no winning.

You guys talk a lot about Israel. I think that's cool, but how does it benefit our Christian lives? I want to go, but I'm trying to justify the cost.

Revelation 2:1-7. Have you ever been so overwhelmed by life that you simply forgot to actually live your life? I think we can all relate at some level where something at work or at home starts to take our focus away from what is truly important. We are home cleaning the house but we are not a family. Were are with our spouse but it is not a marriage. We go to work and are no longer a friend or coworker. The same thing can happen in our service of God, be it personally or corporately, we can get so focused on the work of God that we forget for whom we are doing said work. We become loveless workers in a loveless world, so consumed with doing the good, necessary, and right things that we forget the original intention of our worship and service. God's love for us and our love for Him. We must be careful to never mistakenly abandoned our love for God and others along the way.

Luke 7:36-50. Many of us are unwilling to be completely open about our hurts, anxieties, and least of all our sin. We hide behind the mask of social graces that have been passed down from generation to generation. We all have learned to live with the sickness of regret, rather than humbling ourselves and be willing to weep over our sin in the presence of our great healer Jesus. Why? We are often more concerned with what people think of us than what is best for us. There are times that the best thing we can do is cry out before the King of kings for abundant mercy and ready forgiveness as we love and worship Him with intimacy, passion, and extravagance as we bring the best we have to offer to Christ and Christ alone.

Luke 11:1

Revelation 1:12-20. Fine, I will admit it, there are things happening and people in this world that make me uneasy. But should I let those things make me afraid? Not at all. I serve the King of heaven and He is with me always. (Matt. 28:20) In fact, the only thing I should fear in this life is God himself, for He has the power over our eternal life and death. (Matt.10:28). Yet is it easy to become overwhelmed by all the voices shouting at us in the name of tolerance and justice. Others coming up with the 100th episode of "The Sky is Falling, the Sky is Falling!" Hoping to accomplish our conversions to their cause, to what end I do not know. But we all must remember that as we willingly and faithfully walk with Jesus we have nothing to fear, not even death, for He is our resurrection and hope!

Luke 7:17-35. There are times in our lives when we are experiencing such heavy loss and grief that we can lose perspective. Doubt comes crashing in like an unexpected flood as new fears, and familiar emotions cloud our faith and good judgment. We become disoriented and confused while tumbling helplessly forward, as we are being hurled violently into our new and unknown reality. Things may forever look different than we planned and we often do not know where to begin again. We try to make sense of each piece of our broken life as we try to reconnect the rubble into a coherent picture of a future we can hope to understand. In all this, we must remember that we have the promises of God's Word and Jesus is the faithful friend of sinners like you and me. He is and always will be with us, even when struggling to do the next thing, He is by our side.

Are you guys Calvinists?

Luke 7:1-16. Countless tragic moments and out of our control circumstances continually prove that this life, the one we live here, as we wait for the promise of the Kingdom and Her King, can be a vicious and cruel one. So what can we do to make things more bearable for others and ourselves? First, have faith in God. Especially when you can't see how it will all work out. Remember that the world is watching so see to it that others can see your faith too. Because everyone one, and I mean everyone has hurt and we would all to well to remember that the person who just hurt us maybe did it because they are in deep pain. So choose to have compassion on those who lash out. Often blinded by loss, grief, pain, or fear, some can become so myopic they can not see Jesus much less have the energy to seek Him out. Fourtuneqtly the gracious God of heaven comes to meet us all in our need for His loving, powerful and restoring touch. Second, remember that Jesus can redeem us from the darkest hours of life, even from the grip of death itself.
