Ro: Într-o dimineață răcoroasă de iarnă, valurile Mării Negre loveau malul cu un ritm calm, auzit dintr-o mică cafenea de pe malul mării din Constanța.
En: On a cool winter morning, the waves of the Mării Negre crashed against the shore with a calm rhythm, audible from a small café on the seaside in Constanța.

Ro: Atmosfera era una de serenitate, însă temperatura rece aducea cu sine un aer melancolic.

Ro: În interiorul cafenelei, un bărbat îmbrăcat într-un palton gros, Andrei, stătea la o masă cu o ceașcă de cafea fierbinte în mână.

Ro: Privirea sa se pierdea în zare, spre orizontul albastru și nemărginit al mării.

Ro: Andrei își face curaj, se ridică și se îndreaptă spre masa ei.

Ro: O data ajuns, îi spune: "Sorina, ce surpriză să te revăd!".
En: Once there, he said, "Sorina, what a surprise to see you again!"

Ro: Ea îl privește surprinsă și cu o secunda de ezitare, însă îi răspunde cald: "Andrei... Nu-mi vine să cred".
En: She looked at him, surprised and with a second of hesitation, yet she responded warmly, "Andrei... I can't believe it."

Ro: Nevoia de a vorbi era puternică.
En: The need to talk was strong.

Ro: După câteva întrebări timide și discuții despre vreme, Andrei decide să-i spună adevaratul motiv pentru care e acolo.
En: After a few timid questions and discussions about the weather, Andrei decided to tell her the real reason he was there.

Ro: "Sorina, vreau să vorbim despre trecut. Vreau să-ți spun de ce am plecat și cum am ajuns acum la un alt capăt al drumului meu."

Ro: Sorina deturnează privirea spre mare, temându-se de ceea ce ar putea auzi.
