We Are Bethany

At Easter, we consider three important questions: "Do resurrections happen? Did Jesus rise again? if He did, then what's that mean for me?" How the Apostle Paul answered these 3 questions changed everything for Him. This is our final sermon in our study on the Book of Acts. TEXT: Acts 21: 1-15

Suffering is hard. Most people do everything they can to avoid suffering. They try to ignore it, avoid it, fight against it, or even deny it's happening, but what if there is another option? Today we look at what that option is because the reality is, suffering is inevitable. Everyone goes through difficult seasons. How can we walk in those seasons well? How might God be working even in our suffering? Is there hope even in the hurt?

TEXT: Acts 20:17-38

When God established His Church He did so with a certain structure in place. Namely, He gave the Church His Holy Spirit, Godly Pastors, and a Body of believers willing to follow the lead of God through their leaders. Today we look at what God expects of His pastors and how the Church can work together with leaders to make much of Jesus and grow in community.

TEXT: Acts 19:11-20

What is it that makes someone a "Christian"? Is there a list of things we need to do? Things we need to memorize? What about Christians who have fallen away from God - what does the Bible encourage them to do? Today we take a look at a funny, yet powerful, section of Scripture that speaks into all of these questions.

TEXT: 18:1-17

Many Christians want to do tremendous things for God but feel like they don't know enough or have enough (fill in the blank). Instead of feeling empowered, they feel inadequate. As hard as it might be to believe, Paul actually had similar struggles, but instead of trusting his own skill or talents, he found his security in God. Today we will see that Simple Obedience rooted in Simple Faith is the fuel for Christians seeking to do tremendous things in God's Kingdom.

TEXT: Acts 17:22-34

How Christians engage culture matters.
For some, they join the culture's beliefs and values while others distance themselves... but are these the only two options Christians have? Today we look at Paul's journey in Athens and glean from him some perspective on how we can engage our own Acts 17 World.

TEXT: Acts 15:1-36

Life is made up of moments. Small moments and big moments. Throughout life, there are also moments that reveal what really matters to us and what we are all about. They are defining moments. The early church faced one of these moments in Acts 15 and its effects are felt even today.

TEXT: Acts 11:19-26

Hudson Taylor once said “Many Christians estimate difficulties in light of their own resources, and thus attempt little and often fail in the little they attempt. All God’s giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on His power and presence with them.” God never calls Christians to BE Greater... He calls them to be faithful and trust that HE is GREATER. Join us as we continue our series from Acts as we learn what it is to crave GREATER FAITH.
