Today we are joined by 2004 U.S. Olympian in the 1500 meters, 5 time NCAA National Champion at Villanova, Minnesota high school legend with 13 state titles, proud mom of three, wife to her high school love Charlie, and one of the most recognizable voices in distance running today, Carrie Tollefson.
Carrie ran 4:06 in the 1500, 15:04 in the 5K, competed professionally with Minnesota Distance Elite, and now hosts both the C Tolle Run Podcast and YouTube Channel as well as The RunDot Running Podcast, while serving as one of the leading commentators in the sport.
But this conversation goes far beyond times and titles.
We talk about the secret sauce of outliers. Why the best athletes keep it fun. How confidence is built long before the big stage. And what it looks like to stay in love with running through motherhood, broadcasting, and building a life alongside someone who believes in your dreams.
Carrie shares how she trained through pregnancy, what postpartum looked like for her, how she balances broadcasting at the highest level with raising three kids, and the kind of legacy she hopes to leave behind.
We also dive into the evolution of running culture, super shoes, Strava, partnership in marriage, and why at the end of the day, it is still “just a race.”
This one felt special.
