We Love to Watch

This week, our Summer of Screamakes is covering a remake of a movie we've previously covered, with the guest who covered it with us!

We're doing our first Herzog movie with 1979's Nosferatu the Vampyre, and we're joined by Rick Kelley. You can find Rick's writing at ludditerobot.com

For SCREAMMAKES MONTH we are joined by Salim Garami! You can check him out at:

Screammakes enters our second month, with the 1988 remake of The Blob and Moran brothers sandwich.

We're joined by Peter's brother, Charlie, to learn about high school ska music, and how much goo one human penis contains.

SUMMER OF SCREAMAKE continues to haunt us with Gore Verbinski's hugely influential remake of Ringu, THE RING.

If you like what we do here and want to help us keep the lights on, please hit us up on Patreon!

It's Week 3 of Screamakes, and we're wrapping up our mini-Romero remake trilogy with 2010's The Crazies.

This is a pretty solid remake that too many people slept on when it was released, but also feels "ripped" out of today's headlines with a town dealing with a sudden viral outbreak that makes people act a little funky.

We're joined by returning guest Lydia Lomeli, as we decide how hot Timothy Olyphant is (answer: only getting hotter!).

You can hear more Lydia as an audiobook narrator: www.chirpbooks.com/audiobooks/jeff-davis-8-by-fergus-mason

Bill is back (again?) to talk about the action-horror romp, and maybe the only uncontroversially popular Zach Snyder film.

You can find us on Patreon! Money please!

For July and August, we're doing a double month of ScreaMakes, and kicking it off with a trilogy of Romero remakes, starting with 1990s' Night of the Living Dead.

Join Peter, guest-host Marcus Jones, and guest Ethan Warren, as they dig into whether this deserves a spot in the zombie canon.

You can find Ethan's wonderful writing at Bright Wall, Dark Room: https://www.brightwalldarkroom.com/author/ethanwarren/ and you can find Marcus if you've been cursed by a demon to live out your worst nightmares!

SIEGE MONTH ends with VFW by Joe Begos! We're joined by the lovely Soheil Rezayazdi.

Since we recorded this episode, some news has come out about the line producer and Fred Williamson that is worth thinking about. Here is an article laying out some of the issues involved that we didn't get a chance to get into - because it wasn't public knowledge at the time of recording.

The only thing worse than being under siege, is being under siege by Jean Luc Picard (who's a Nazi now).

It's Week 3 of Siege month, and we're covering Green Room with brother-in-law of the show, Bill!

John Carpenter's first of a handful of masterpieces, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, had an outsized effect on a generation of filmmakers, and helped inspire this month. We also cover Jean-Francois Richet's remake from 2005 starring Ethan Hawke.

We're joined by Ryan! He's back, babay!
