We Need Some Milk episodes

  • Thinkin' & Doin' w/ Brandon McKoy (Part 1)
Babbu & Scam wanted to talk about taxes. So they asked Brandon McKoy, President of the New Jersey Policy Perspective to pour a cold one and make some mustaches.
A dive into how New Jersey got to where it is fiscally, life in Trenton, and answering Jim Aloisi's question of why it exists.

  • Rolling Dice For District 8 w/ Hélène Vincent
The bhoys aren't sure if this will be a reoccuring thing, but there's a preliminary election in Boston on Tuesday 9/24. Lotta candidates running, and so little coverage.
So they invited Hélène Vincent running for Boston City Council's District 8 where she poured a few bottles out on being a first time candidate, the issues that matter to her, and breaking through to voters in all kinds of ways.
Elections are about risk takers. Hélène is one.

  • Suburbia
    Lotta confessions in this episode.
Babbu has a secret and it's the suburban life for him now. Yuck.
But we also get into the highs and lows as a first time homeowner, a little GOP bashin', and Scam's own confession about why Operation Clean Sweep was personal. He's pretty pissed about it.

  • House Cleaning w/ State Rep. Tommy Vitolo (Part 1)
So Babbu & Scam wanted to keep the politician train going. Lotta steam, so Tommy Vitolo took the slot.
    - Why he ran for the 15th Norfolk, who he be about, and Brookline's "democratic principles."
    - Getting a budget done
    - Crisis everywhere with transit, education, and housing
    - The work of a legislator vs a pay raise he didn't vote for
    - The Ding Dong Cart Bill: a case study on the process of Beacon Hill
    ... Part 2 soon with more ...

  • The Rat Pack: Milky Edition (Part 2)
It’s Part Deux with Jim Aloisi & Kyle Clauss
    - The Rachael Rollins Media Blitzkrieg and how we’re sick of it
    - Your Boston City Council at Large Hunger Games

  • The Rat Pack: Milky Edition (Part 1)
    Part 1
Babbu & Scam had to face the realities of life: that life always includes Jim Aloisi & Kyle Clauss.
    - It's funny, most of us met through social media so why not harp on it
    - Jim's pissed about the MBTA Right of Way sale near Chelsea Creek (that the FMCB is finally taking a gander at)
    - The Democratic Nomination
    - Babbu's on The Ropes for New Jersey

  • Dichotomy of a District w/ State Senator Eric Lesser
Babbu & Scam enjoyed a nice Independence Day together in New Jersey and concocted an idea to get someone on who cares about transit, but has the ability to move it forward (or get in the way.)
So they asked someone who can move it forward: it's Eric Lesser of the 1st Hampden & Hampshire district. He came on and gave the rundown on the East-West High Speed Rail/the transportation crisis we're in, representing a district on different ends of the economic spectrum, & flashing around 10,000 dollars to convince Scam to move back to Western Massachusetts.
Eric making it rain whole milk and bridge the gap between the East and West of the Commonwealth. The fellas can get down with that.

  • Gassin' Up w/ Nathan Phillips
Remember when Babbu & Scam had Andrea Honore on to talk about the Weymouth Gas Compressor and life as a mom/activist?
Well recently, it cleared a big hurdle and while we recorded before the news broke, the boys invited Nathan Phillips on to discuss the climate we're living in politically, the relevancy of moving off gas, and even how the MBTA plays a role in our climate efforts.
Make the damn MBTA free already.
Update on the Weymouth Gas Compressor:

  • Stuck Between the Holland & Lady Liberty w/ Councilman James Solomon
Babbu & Scam started this podcast because believe it or not, Boston and Jersey City have a lot in common: transit's awful, rents are too high, wages haven't gone up, but everything's economically boomin'
So they invited James Solomon, Councilman for Ward E on the Jersey City Council to come on. A progressive at heart and in mind he opened our eyes to what's happening within it with gentrification on the rise, his start in politics, and even the connection he lived working in Boston City Hall to now.
An excellent episode that only showcases why the boys provide the milk. Because they'll always find a Boston/Jersey City connection.
