Fresh off the release of her newest EP Cosmic Wave, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit down and speak with Gia Federico all about the in’s and out’s of the project. Currently signed to Sliptrick Records, Gia Federico is an instrumental guitarist who has simply blown our minds with the complex compositions you’re about to experience on her EP, Cosmic Wave. Considering it’s her first solo project since 2019’s The Ladder, we’ve been patiently waiting on more, and the final product has been a resounding success in terms of inventiveness, ingenuity, and pure artistry. If this happens to be your introduction to the artist, we can think of no better way to start than with a listen of this.
Having just shared his second single, “Undelivered (Make Me OP!)”, it was only right that we brought back on Clint Lightfoot for another extraordinary conversation. For those potentially out of the loop, Clint Lightfoot is an experimental artist who’s always working to serve up something different, thought provoking, and complex. His second release “Undelivered (Make Me OP!)” fits that mold perfectly as once again he’s created something that makes you stop in your tracks and attempt to connect the dots with all that’s being displayed in front of you. During our conversation, we spoke on parts of his creation process, got a look towards what else will be shared in 2023, and really picked his brain surrounding his musicianship.
Fresh off the release of her latest single, “love that u lost it”, we got the chance to catch up with Devon Alexis to get all the specifics on her newest release. Currently based out of New York, Devon Alexis has been fully immersed in music since she was two years old. Always striving to create, write, and sing, it ultimately led to a solo career of her own in which she’s well on her way to building up a massive discography. Her debut “Brix” was shared in March of last year, but she’s followed it up with something even more beautiful, an all new track called “love that u lost it”. During our conversation with the artist, she so kindly walked us through its process of creation, everything in the works for 2023, and so much more!
Celebrating the release of their incredibly impressive record ASPHYXIA, we got the chance to hear all about it from Zephios of Karelia’s Discord! Currently based all the way in Aberdeen, Scotland, Karelia’s Discord are consistently aiming to think outside the box when creating their niche sound. In our eyes and ears, they’ve certainly surpassed that goal on their all new album ASPHYXIA, a piece of art that feels more like an audible journey rather than a standard record. We spoke with front man Zephios who kindly took us on an adventure through the creative process, nailing down exactly what genre and style this embodies, and so much more.
Six years later and finally Katelyn Richards has released her third full length album, Inevitable. Luckily for us, we got the wonderful chance to sit and speak with her to learn all about it. For those potentially out of the loop, Katelyn Richards is a New York City-based artist who’s directly infusing her endless passion for music into an original catalog of her own. Following up her 2016 debut Light Fight Insight, she somehow managed to top herself on an eclectic, instrumentally driven, and vocal-focused new album called Inevitable. Getting to hear its origin story, how it was made, and what her 2023 is going to look like was truly an unforgettable opportunity.
Celebrating the release of her third full length album titled Freedom, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with the artist behind the music, Jude Adams! For those unfamiliar, Jude Adams is an immensely talented singer and songwriter currently based out of the UK. Released officially in 2022, but still just as fantastic today, we got the chance to speak with Jude about her newest album Freedom in which she gave us a much needed background on how it was made, her personal history and struggles, plus a peek into what we can expect in this new year. If for any reason this is your introduction to the artist, we’re urging everyone out there to dig into this immediately.
Fresh off the release of her latest single “Shut Up”, we got the incredible opportunity to kick off our year with an interview with Hayes Warner. For those potentially out of the loop, Hayes Warner is a New York City-based pop artist that is undeniably on the rise. As her discography has continued to grow, she’s taking bigger chances and elevating her sound, more specifically on her stellar new single “Shut Up”. Getting to speak with Hayes in-depth about this track was the cherry on top to our listen, but we’re urging everyone to give it a spin in order to learn how it was made, a peek into her process as a musician, and some hints at what’s to come in 2023.
Taking the time at the end of the year to talk all about her record Skinny, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Casey McQuillen. For those potentially out of the loop, Casey McQuillen has been all over the map this year, gaining popularity and continuing to build up a loyal fanbase. You may recognize her from Season 13 of American Idol, but as of lately she’s been building up an impressive discography, in addition to having her music featured on many reputable channels. Her newest album is a vulnerable one titled Skinny and it was truly an outstanding chance to hear the ins and outs of how it got made and what listeners can expect in the new year.
On the heels of an all new release titled Live from The Car Hole Volume 3 and generously giving us the history on Shoegum Records, we got the special opportunity to sit and speak with Scotty Imp! Giving independent artists an outlet dating all the way back to 1991, Scotty Imp has been a paramount piece of the DIY scene thanks to Shoegum Records. As a drummer and multi-talented musician himself, this was certainly atypical to our normal style of interview, but Scotty brought a much needed breath of fresh air to our conversation. We covered many topics ranging from the ins and outs of running a record company, how exactly things got started, and even a peek into what 2023 may have to offer. Without a doubt, it’s a conversation you’re not going to want to miss.
Released today and right in time for the holiday season, we got the special opportunity to speak with Paul Vuocolo of Truenemy once again to talk all about his cover, “Santa Claus Is Back In Town”. Over the years it’s been so special to see Paul grow as an artist, but he’s finally brought a much needed freshness to Christmastime with a hard rocking cover of Elvis Presley’s “Santa Claus Is Back In Town”. We spoke in-depth all about his reasoning for choosing this classic track, but also an even closer look at everything that’s impending release for 2023. While we’d certainly recommend you check out his originals, there’s no time like the present to enjoy your holiday time with a whole lot of edge and attitude.
