Fresh off the release of his single “Barren Field” and right before the release of his newest album, the artist known as Bomethius was kind enough to drop in for a full interview! For those potentially out of the loop, Bomethius is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist, Jonathan Hodges. As his newest album Awful, Pompous, & Artificial begins its rollout for a release on December 31st, 2022, we were lucky enough to grab Jonathan to talk all about one of the lead singles, “Barren Field”. During our conversation, we touched on a variety of topics spanning from his production, an honest look at the music industry, and his ultimate goals to accomplish by the end of next year. The priority though is giving this new single a listen as soon as you can.

Fresh off the release of his latest record Missing Pieces, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Chris McCooey to get a full background on its creation. Born, raised, and currently based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Chris McCooey is a singer, songwriter, and producer who’s just shared his newest album Missing Pieces. Rooted in Americana, but certainly infusing a ton of other elements within its expansive sound, our conversation with Chris was an eye opening experience into how exactly this all came together, what he’s been up to over the past couple years, and even a sneak peek into what the new year may hold. Less than a month since Only Okay’s latest EP Four Joints dropped and thankfully we got the wonderful opportunity to speak with the man behind the music. Currently based out of Detroit, Michigan, Only Okay is the solo project of rapper and songwriter, Griffin Shiminski. Showcasing a seemingly infinite amount of styles on his newest EP Four Joints, we got a much needed background on how exactly this record was created, a peek into his process as a musician, and a very detailed plan for 2023 that’s going to include a massive amount of new music. Jam packed with seemingly infinite energy, we got the wonderful opportunity to speak with SUN to talk all about her freshly released single, “John & I (Money)”. All the way in France, SUN was more than kind enough to take a moment out of her incredibly busy schedule to talk about the greatness that is her newest track, “John & I (Money)”. Classified as “brutal pop”, this song is an absolute wonder in its risk taking, emphatic vocals, and blurred lines of so many different genres. We quickly fell in love with the song, but after speaking with the artist, it became clear that she’s got a grasp on her career that’s got a fruitful future on the way.

Just in time for the holiday season, Jennifer Saran was kind enough to drop in for an interview to talk about her all new single, “Songs of Christmas…Come Dance with Me”. For those potentially out of the loop, Jennifer Saran is a contemporary jazz singer and songwriter with a real passion for holiday music. With even more on the way in a similar vein, her newest song “Songs of Christmas…Come Dance with Me” is an absolute bop from beginning to end. It breaks the mold of your more traditional and expected Christmas song and infuses a wide variety of styles and genres; a real breath of fresh air in this overcrowded space. We’re urging everyone out there to give it a spin!

Taking the time to talk all about “Doin Whatcha Doin”, we got the fantastic opportunity to speak with Sarah and John of Sarah Diamond and The Soul Miners! On only the band’s second single, Sarah Diamond and The Soul Miners are already on the path to carving out a seriously special sound for themselves. Their newest track is titled “Doin Whatcha Doin” and right at the forefront features Sarah Diamond’s commanding vocals and an impeccable backing instrumentation from a talented band. Of course getting to hear all the specifics of their dynamic, how this came to be, and a look into the future was a major highlight to our conversation. Taking the time out of his busy schedule, we got the wonderful opportunity to speak with Wes Hambright all about his newest album, Propaganda. For those potentially out of the loop, Wes Hambright is an incredibly talented composer and songwriter who’s been prolific in his releases dating back almost 15 years. With a whopping 15 feature films, 20 short films, 12 ballets, and much more that he’s composed, his newest project falls under his moniker Orange Dog. The record is titled Propaganda and it’s truly an experimental yet rewarding piece. We got the chance to talk to Wes all about it and receive a more than necessary background on its creation.

Taking the time out of their busy schedules to talk “Castaway”, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Letchen Grey all about their newest single. For those potentially out of the loop, Letchen Grey aren’t strangers in the slightest to the music scene. Formed originally in the 1980’s, they’re a four-piece made up of Mark Andersen (rhythm guitar), Tony Ross (drums), Bradley Mangrum (vocals), and Jeff Rey (bass). Consistently putting together an exotic fusion of rock, with plenty of their own personality entering the mix as well, their latest track “Castaway” is truly something special and a real return to form compared to the rest of their discography. Speaking with them was an absolute joy and we cannot wait for everyone to enjoy our conversation.

Fresh off the release of his second full length record, Ashton York has managed to top himself on Nightmare In Your Arms. Luckily for us, we got the opportunity to speak with the artist for a full and in-depth interview. For those somehow out of the loop, Ashton York is a Bay Area-based singer and songwriter who’s continuing to carve out his path and sound within his celebrated discography. Taking cues from some indie greats such as Sufjan Stevens and Big Thief’s Adrienne Lenker, there’s no doubt in our minds or ears that what this artist is creating is fresh and original. During our conversation with Ashton, we covered a variety of topics ranging from his process of creating, the meaning behind the record, and a peek into what 2023 has to offer.

All the way across the world in Melbourne, Australia, Alicia Lis was kind enough to drop in for a full interview to talk about her debut single, “Lola”. Years and years in the making, consistently being surrounded and teaching music, and finally Alicia Lis has shared her powerful debut single, “Lola”. For all the dreampop and fans of folk music, this will certainly be right up your alley, however we’ve quickly found that her sound is adaptable to music lovers all across the spectrum. Of course getting to hear about the song’s origins was a major highlight, but getting to learn about Alicia as a person was a delight as well. Needless to say, we recommend you listen and watch as soon as you can.
