Taste Is Simply Just Knowing How Something Makes You Feel. My Policeman is a new movie based on the book by Bethan Roberts, which is also based on the life of writer E.M. Forster. The crew talks about a new audiobook to check out from Jannette McCurdy and breakdown some questionable scenes from David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, pretty uneasy stuff to sit through as they revisit the cult classic film. Shannon brings up some sad news about the late Aaron Carter which makes the crew take a dive into a nostalgic trip from childhood bringing up walkman CD players, HitClips, and easier times. IMDB shares with us what the film is about: “The arrival of Patrick into Marion and Tom's home triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years previously.” While the film didn’t strike everyone as the next amazing film, the crew divulges in the 1950s era Sussex society when it was extremely illegal to be homosexual with life sentencing consequences, and really love how these themes played out. This story of a love triangle serves a notebook-style story spending time in the 90s and the 50s. Apparently, to prepare for his role, Harry Styles memorized the entire script. According to the director, Styles could recite every character's lines in a given scene. Check it out to see what the crew thought about this novel adaptation which you can stream now, only on Amazon Prime.

It’s time for another recommendation series with the We Watch It Crew! Huddle up everyone while John shares Malcolm Gladwell’s audiobook, Talking to Strangers. This book explains why humans are so bad at talking to people who are different from them. While Cody doesn’t know the characters in DC, he chooses DC Animated Series to get acquainted with the characters. Shannon, on the other hand, shares a juicy scoop! She talks about Framing Britney and discusses how she was portrayed by the media and the downfall of her career after how society did not treat Britney right! Tune in to this episode for the top content picks of We Watch It Crew for this week!
On today’s episode of Shannon’s List, Shannon discovers the famous cult classic fantasy trilogy that won 11/11 Oscars, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Shannon shares her thoughts and why it doesn’t compete with other films like Harry Potter or Star Wars. So listen in and join Shannon, JT and Cody as they discuss the legendary trilogy and why it’s still one of the best fantasy epics to date.
Everything Was Fine Yesterday. The Banshees of Inisherin is a new Irish Dark Comedy that is taking the critics by storm with impressive ratings, metrics, and Academy Award buzz. Take a dive with the crew and hear all about the celebrity Halloween costumes out on the internet. They spent a lot of time on Heidi Klum’s brilliant costume this year, if you have not seen it yet, you have been warned. Cody shares his last minute costume choice by showing up to parties dressed as a famous insurance agent, while JT has had his costume planned by his niece THREE YEARS AGO! The commitment on this one is strong. JT Shares with us some tragic news for The Witcher fans as Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of Geralt of Rivia that has previously been portrayed by the fan loyalist Henry Cavill, bring some ear plugs for that part… You have been warned. We celebrate a top We Watch It fan’s engagement in Las Vegas and the commitment that Shannon and Cody have for their best friends. They take a one night only trip to turn around, go to work the next day, get off, and head to the theater to check out the highly anticipated follow up to Martin Mcdonagh's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. IMDB shares with us about the film's description: "Two lifelong friends find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming consequences for both of them." With it’s simple premise, artistic style, hilarious dialogue, and impressive themes, stick around for the end of the show to hear what your hosts have to say about The Banshees of Inisherin which you can catch only in theaters, or, at least, at the time that I publish this description.

Different genres come together once again in this batch of We Watch It crew’s show recommendations. J.T. Hazzard talks about his deep love for Star Trek and how the J.J. Abrams era gave a fresh storytelling perspective to the popular sci-fi franchise. Cody Aaron Hanify geeks out about Chris Rock’s comedy special Tamborine, which features stories about the comedian’s personal life and relationships. Finally, Shannon Mahaffey shares her thoughts about Promising Young Woman, a film about the vigilante nightlife of a woman who goes after sexual predators. Shannon’s recommendation brings the entire discussion to how movies call out unresolved societal issues and why gender equality requires a considerable chunk of effort from men.
Mel Brooks’ space opera parody film Spaceballs is a crazy ride that makes fun of Star Wars, Aliens, Transformers, Planet of the Apes, and all of the popular sci-fi franchises of that time. It has been a part of everyone's childhood – but not Shannon Mahaffey, who has never watched it until now. She shares her thoughts about the film with J.T. Hazzard and Cody Aaron Hanify, which is pretty unique since she has not watched any Star Wars films until recently either! She talks about her favorite character and the stupidest scenes that made her laugh so hard.

Action-packed, full of laughs, and a Seal of Approval status rating, the crew brings their a-game to discuss, debate, and share with you their thoughts on The Woman King, Shannon’s favorite movie of the year, and the 15-year long project that "The Rock" has been working through blood sweat and tears. While the tomatometer seems to serve the positive response from an audience perspective, take time to dive into what JT, Cody, and Shannon thought about this roller coaster ride of a movie. Shannon shares the growth of her crochet endeavors and weaves culture into her projects while bringing her creations to life in the movie theater. JT shares some unfortunate news in regards to the decisions behind the man who plays the character The Flash in the DC Cinematic Universe, Ezra Miller. It also puzzles the crew that Batgirl got canceled after shooting the whole film and spending $90 billion to make it, what is going on with DC?! Cody brings to light the new Creed film with a trailer from the directorial debut of Michael B. Jordan. The Rocky franchise is STILL making movies. While movies are all fun for everyone, the crew encourages the Orange County, CA audience to visit the Long Beach Playhouse for great live entertainment. Keep local theater ALIVE!

We Watch It crew's Shannon Mahaffey, J.T. Hazzard, and Cody Aaron Hanify review films once more under a strict time limit! For this episode, they talk all about holiday movies and family-friendly flicks. The trio goes deep into a Victorian era movie about a famous detective's sister, a Halloween-themed movie starring Adam Sandler, an animated film with adult jokes mixed in, a story of a familiar creepy family, and a lot more. J.T. also dissects a popular show about martial arts, sharing how he found its take on karate pretty questionable.
The crew drops another set of recommendations for you to consider! In this episode, J.T. Hazzard recommends an ingenious take on puberty and the struggles that teens have to go through. Although Big Mouth is about teenage development, viewer discretion is advised. On the other hand, Shannon Mahaffey is all about The World According To Jeff Goldblum — a documentary about anything Jeff wants to cover, which is actually much more than it sounds. After all those movies, Cody decides to go behind the scenes on his recommendation of The Movies That Made Us. Something to watch if you’d like to reminisce on the past hits while diving into the inspiration and perspiration that went into every hit. So tune in to get the scoop on all these must-watch reels!
