James Onieal sat down with the Wealth Preservation Podcast and outlined his origin story of, despite having an initial fear of flying, becoming a pilot and then becoming a career counselor within the aviation industry. While his field may seem niche, James dealt with all the struggles that every other entrepreneur deals with when scaling up a small business. 

Not only does James share his relatable stories as a struggling business owner, but he also dives more into the adversity and incredibly simple beginnings of what would eventually become a major part of his career: Raven Career Development. You do not need a complex business plan to launch a startup. Sometimes it’s as simple as having a small piece of knowledge that others will pay for. 

Also discussed in this episode was the way James navigated positive growth in his business after the desolation of the aviation industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. James Crawford, founder of the Venture Leather Company, is producing high-quality leather products out of Uganda. James Crawford joins the Wealth Preservation Podcast and shares his truly unique story of inspiration and journey through entrepreneurship in Uganda. While he admits to not being a born entrepreneur, James’ interest in developing countries and the complexities of growing economies led him to not only start a Ugandan leather company, but to do it for-profit. This was during a time when nonprofits were incredibly popular, and James even had prior experience in the nonprofit arena. But while James has an incredible amount of respect for the work nonprofits do for their causes, he had a concept and conviction that in order to truly make a difference, he needed to be a competitive, for-profit company and use the profits to reinvest in the community. 

This means he had to rely less on the charitable messaging and marketing and focus heavily on building a successful company producing high-quality leather products.
