In this episode, Drew comes to part three in his study of “Satan’s devices as seen in the book of Nehemiah.” The device analyzed is “intimidation.” Satan, through his influence, tries to intimidate Christians today, but God’s people must not allow his empty tactics to stop us from doing the will of God (Rom. 8:31)!
In this episode, Drew continues his study of “Satan’s Devices” as seen in the book of Nehemiah. Here, the device used is “ridicule,” which is prevalent today as many speak ill of the Lord’s church.
In this episode, Drew begins a five-part series discussing Satan’s devices as they are found in the book of Nehemiah. He gives credit to Garland Elkins who presented this material at the “Standing in the Gap” Lectureship at the Nesbit church of Christ (Nesbit, MS). The material is being used in a series of episodes to show how Satan’s devices haven’t changed and in 2023, many are being taken “captive to do his will” (2 Tim. 2:26). Hopefully, this series will help us be aware of Satan’s devices so we can fight against him!
In this episode. Drew shows how Nehemiah leads others to rebuild the walls in spite of the opposition and problems they face. The work itself was difficult, but doing the work when others try to bring you down can be detrimental to success. Nehemiah doesn’t let anything stop him from doing the will of God and neither should we!
In this episode, Drew discusses the “James 1:22” principle of actually doing the will of God! Nehemiah planned the work (Ep. 4) and worked the plan by leading others in the work of rebuilding and restoring the broken walls of Jerusalem.
In this episode, Drew discusses one of the great leadership qualities of Nehemiah: Planning ahead. As Nehemiah knows the daunting task of rebuilding the walls, he plans the work which shows his investment in fixing the problem.
In this episode, Drew works through Nehemiah’s beautiful prayer to God. As he faced an incredible storm, Nehemiah went to the right source to “find grace in time of need” (Heb. 4:15-16). May all who are struggling to take heart when studying this prayer.
In this episode, Drew discusses the storm Nehemiah faced as he heard a painful report of the status of Jerusalem. His deep concern shows his deep compassion for God’s people and God’s will. By noticing his reaction, others today can see the value of caring enough to address problems that arise.
In this episode, Drew introduces a brand new season of Weathering the Storm. He delivers a biographical sketch of Nehemiah and some important background material of the book of Nehemiah. May all who listen this season be able to relate to Nehemiah and be better equipped to “weather the storm.”
In this episode, Drew concludes Season 5 of Weathering the Storm. After bringing the study to a close, he previews Season 6. Be sure to listen so you know the theme for next season!
