The Department of Civil Rights exists to teach communities about creating an equitable free from bias and to research claims of unlawful discrimination. If a person feels like they have been discriminated against in a way that violates the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act or the Persons With Disabilities Civil Rights Act, they can reach out to the department at Michigan.gov/MDCR.

Every person who lives in the U.S. will be required to fill out a census form so we can get a complete and accurate count of the people living in our country.

Between the months of March and July of 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau will be counting all U.S. residents. The census is important for allocating your federal tax dollars and Congressional seats.
