Shaleen is an Indian-American attorney and longtime drug policy activist who has been writing, passing, and implementing equitable cannabis laws for over 20 years. She served as the Commissioner of the MA Cannabis Control Commission from 2017 to 2020. She left to focus on running the Parabola Center, a nonprofit think tank that pushes for equity in cannabis policymaking. She has been described as “the people’s weed watchdog”.
