The window is closing on those brave men and women who served and fought overseas during World War II. Tim Gray, Filmmaker, President and Founder of The World War II Foundation and Museum (Wakefield RI) is making sure we remember those veterans and hear the details of their realities from the war. “We don’t produce World War II films. We produce documentary films on individual personal stories from World War II." To date they have produced thirty-eight (38) documentary films honoring the legacy of the veterans and survivors of one of history’s most crucial periods. They are the toughest generation, coming out of the depths of the Depression to save the world. This is particularly poignant, as we recognize the 80th Anniversary of D Day, and in light of facing future conflicts. The WWII Museum is home to the most comprehensive collection of artifacts and encourages education, "We teach based on how students are actually learning and what tools THEY themselves are utilizing today to explore history," This method has produced a "WOW" effect among the young men and women, expanding their knowledge and impacting their realities. The best part, the museum is FREE for all and for educators that includes transportation, the bus is included!
