Service delivery protests regularly plague this province.
In a bid to improve their overall service delivery, the Western Cape government has launched what they are calling a Citizen Engagement app.
The idea is that those who download the app will get a front row seat to all matters relating to local government.
It will also provide a platform where they can report service delivery issues without having to stand in queues or hunt down officials to assist them.
The Department of Local Government in the Western Cape says if the pilot rollout of it’s new citizen engagement application proves to be effective, the rest of the province can soon look forward to using the technology.

The Western Cape’s group B blood supply is under severe pressure and has reached a level of a mere 1 to 2 days.
The decline in blood stocks for this particular group can be attributed to higher usage and a decrease in collection of blood group B. WPBTS is worried that it will be in crisis by the following week if over and above the desired stocks are not collected.
