A piece about the sea god, or demigod? I'm not 100% sure about their status. I seem to be mixing up mythology big time. Anyway, I built in a tritonus (can you find it?) and that's how I came up with the lyrics. The city could be Atlantis, or any city you would like to flood to get rid of its bleakness.

Harmony-wise, this doesn't seem to fit into any standard scale, so it's probably best described as chromatic? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, who knows.

Atmospheric Electro Trance Techno to play WipEout to. The CoLDSToRaGe vibe is strong in this one. Once again it's racing against the clock on Sunday. I had a good few hours to make something, but I'm not feeling all that well. I had a lovely few days hanging out with family, but it left me feeling exhausted. Still, weeklybeats must be made. So here we are. The track definitely could use some refinement. And there isn't any time to do a proper mix. Not to mention the copious amounts of reverb. But overall I think I like the vibe. Or at least right now I do.

Bit of a struggle bus this week, made some guitar licks and chords (omnisphere) and grabbed some vocals, TR1000 in drum duty again (pretty basic programming). Have to say, At 40 minutes before the submission. I hated the vocals (way to dark and just not feeling it), so I found another sample. Can't say it fits perfectly but I couldn't go with the original. I simply ran out of time to grab something else and work that in with the arrangement so we have another week. Need to switch some things up to get out of this funk, we'll see whats in store.

Another one for the Friendly Sample Challenge on the WB discord (Plus M8 Community Jam 56). There is new construction near my house, and I got to record and use a long sample of a front loader doing its thing. All other sounds are from the Friendly Sample Challenge, one from last challenge, the rest from this week's challenge

I performed this one live using a Launchpad Pro mkIII and its special control surface mode with the Dirtywave M8. I wish I had taken advantage of the beat repeat or live note-placing, but I'm running up against time

(When it's not 10 minutes til deadline, I'll link out to the Friendly Sample Challengers whose samples I used. I did use at least one from everyone who threw in for this week)

While I was working on this week's track, I decided it needed vocals, and almost immediately found a sample that worked well. So then the project turned into ignoring everything else and just experimenting with chopping up the sample; it's probably the most fun I've had doing a WB in a couple months now!

This is one of those songs I'd like to rework in the future and maybe put together a "weekly beats favorites" compilation. The sample came with a lot of distortion included, so I'd like to fix the rest of the song up a bit more to match.

I've been listening to the Porter Robinson and Ninajirachi B2B set from the Chinese Laundry for most of the week/weekend, and  originally was going to try to make something in the same style. I ended up making something that feels maybe more like a Sega game or something because of how much FM synth I used. I also added some "android" vocals to the track to kind of fill it out. I feel like the mixing is a bit off, and the beginning of the track feels a weird compared to the rest of the track, but overall I'm happy with it. Any feedback is appreciated!
