Turned down a little lake time, but I need some music time for my soul. Happy way to spend a Sunday. Any creation, any time, lifts me up.

This one is all samples and chops from various vinyl. Listened and grabbed samples for an hour today.

Chopped and jammed for an hour on the Push. Reminded not to overthink, especially under time constraint, and just start playing with first thing that tickles the ears. Recognize much will be left on the hard drive for later, or never to be used.

Edited and mixed for an hour. Accept it won't be perfect, and what comes out is what's it's gonna be. Just have fun for a few hours on the journey.

I'm all up the vinyl this week because I'm doing a DJ a set at the punk rock flea market in a couple weeks. They want only vinyl and punk and punk-adjacent. I'm digging through old punk stuff mostly from my youth in the 90s. Love that era, nostalgia is a part, but I think it was a very vibrant in general. Not just punk, great hip hop an everything. Electronic was growing and evolving.

It's been quite a trip reliving some of those years and the emotions through the records. Hearing a lyric, tearing up a little, and remembering how it helped me through those confusing times of seeking and forming. The scene was life. How music helps and heals and saves and gave the kids a basis for becoming whole. Grateful to the scenes and the music that saves. Grateful to be able to create today, share here and hang with this scene!

This may be my most "traditional" track yet, in terms of structure and arrangement. Didn't have the time or energy to write lyrics and record actual vocals, so you're going to have to imagine those. And I tried a few different drum tracks, but in the end none of them satisfied, so... you're getting it raw. I'm happy with the melody and harmonies, but the overall result to me feels more like a random .mid file, heh. Maybe I'll revisit this sometime.

All M8 here, no samples. Some reverb and mild mastering done in Ableton afterwards.
