An attempt at a more ambient chill beat. Done in Ableton Note. Recorded some road sounds while in line waiting to get into a festival.

This is another edited jam using the TR-8S through the rack.

I sort of feel like listening back to the rough recordings from the jam there are better parts which are hard to reduce into a song, but I'll work on doing that better.

Took a few years from first hearing it but i was always going to end putting this sample in a song.

Keen to try something a bit different to this next week.

Me and qp decided to collab for this week. Been quite some time since we last worked together, so was a really fun to reconnect creatively. Don't relly know how we ended up where we ended up, but it's something. We kind of just followed the flow. This time we only did one mix, but two "masters". Next week we might do two separate takes on the same source :)

Also huge shoutout to my brother qp for this experience, crazy to see how far you've come from us just playing around in sam's basement way back then!

From frozen streets

Where you're taught to always carry heat

That's how you wake, eat, sleep, repeat

Ain't no fucking mountain steep enough

When you came up from the mud

You city boys like acting tough

But out in them woods, this shit get's real rough

Demon stuff, Robin Hoods slitting throats

There won't ever be enough

Enough gold, nor enough blood

We'll drown the valley and the plains will flood

They tried to bleed us dry

Now they're hanging upside down

We're all jokers, we're all clowns

Piss on their graves, turn our frowns upside down

They tried to bleed us dry

So we made them walk the skies

Black magic sampler pack, made me think of building and brewing a potion with some impending doom hiding in the background. Weird transition near beginning.

the clock is ticking along

the season changes her song

it's moving so fast

the path is winding and long

you blink

and one day you're gone

collab week with jwh - huzzah!

we had to change things up as jwh is house sitting - so we were not physically together

we set a 3 track 30min time limit to write something - we emailed the 3 tracks we made to the other

we set another 30min timer to add to what the other one sent & then mixed/finalized with no limits

on this track jwh sent:

track 1 guitar stem

track 2 (fancy/new to him) tom drum

track 3 bass stem

i added: 3 vocal tracks and 1 musical typing synth track with the rhythmic effect called "mystic timepiece"

happy halfway point of the WB year!!! & happy full strawberry moon everyone!
