New toy, so I did go for a track with the new acoustic... And yeah a parlor sized guitar does record really good. But I feel that it is fun to have the extended low end of a dreadnought.

If you are in Canada and maybe one more acoustic guitar, go on the Godin site an pull the trigger. It is a well crafted instrument (in China), there are 3 shapes available and even after Quebec taxes, it is just over 300$

Did record it in mono with my "cheap" large diaphragm neat worker bee, about 30cm (1Ft) in front of the guitar pointing to the end of the neck. Quick delay on the guitar so it sounds wide. (guit L delay track R) A little drum pass afterward, added a dirty synth bass and Voilà!!!

Did see some old friends this Friday evening, it was great.

The new toy!

Not a great week fitness wise, up at about 92kg, did about 3hrs of cardio... I should be able to up this to 5-7 hrs as I was doing at the start of the year, but need to dig a bit more.

it was way too hot to do stuff later in the week, so here's a bit of drums + mangling.  (i.e. drums from last week, but processed!  not sure if this counts as "cheating".  don't think so, but i suppose it depends on who decides that.)

Electro techno to play WipEout to. With a bit of an Orbital influence this week. A long, dramatic journey that slowly unfolds. Ramping up the intensity. After concentrating on just the Analog Rytm the last few weeks. I wanted to do something with more sounds this week. So I dusted off some synths, and went to town. Lot of layers, lots of synths. Probably a bit too many, really. The mix could use some more time and attention. And I'm not entirely pleased with the last melody. I feel it's a bit too rigid. Could have used a bit more syncopation. But alas, I ran out of time.

As always, another week another beat, I hope whoever listens enjoys. Last week I wasn't too proud of my mix, but this week I for sure am. Good lord is this one a banger. Work has been a nightmare recently, I'm sure some of you can relate. that being said music keeps me grounded and tracks like this one are what keeps my head up. I hope if you were having a rough week this tune will lift your spirits like it did for me.

I’ve never been afraid to ask for help.

I tried therapy multiple times.

I never found the right fit unfortunately.

I believe that I can indeed find that help this time.

This week is another interlude. Wanted to make something more substantial for the halfway point, but didn't have enough time. This week relied HEAVILY on some atmospheric, drum, and bass samples to get the overall feeling. Additional sounds were made with the wavsynth and hypersynth on the M8. Its pretty rough, but as always.. any feedback is greatly appreciated!
