This is not a track made with much love, but it's more of a test of two particular things:

- Can I still write music after a 3-4 week break?

- Can I sound design effectively without Serum 2?

The jury's still out on the first one - I feel like the composition and arrangement are severely lacking - but maybe I'll come around to actually liking this track in a few weeks.

The first half of the drop was mostly Massive. The second half of the drop was mostly made using the Poly Grid in Bitwig. I still rely heavily on plugins for OTT/spectral compression (not to mention spectral clipping), but I'm getting a lot better acquainted with Bitwig's stock devices.

Excerpt from a wonderful 40ish minute recording. Set the Manis Iteritas to drone mode and it created these lovely sounds.

There's really a power to just sticking to the same modules and diving deep.

This was just before the ghosts kicked in - for whatever reason, there's something in my signal flow which occasionally has this interesting buildup/echo. Not sure what causes it, but it's happened a few times now.

Anyway, it was difficult to choose a part this week, but I'm happy with the selection.

This week i dug out an old Alesis D4 that's never really been used much. Made a couple of bars of percussion on it, added a syncopated acid line and some tense pads. Recorded it live via a Mackie to Ableton, then added a breakbeat that syncopated nicely against the existing elements. Some edits for fun.

first week i kind of procrastinated til the last day but it turned out really well, sort of trance meets idm...

the big ambient keyboard sounds from my hydrasynth going into my guitar pedalboard with all three delays going...

this sounds a bit like a series of ambient drone albums i've been working on but with a beat added. didn't have time to edit it down so it is presented in 160 kbps lo-fi glory.

the instrumental this time was recorded and mostly done in about 2 hours because most sounds you hear are from my "percussion bag" - which means that its just alot of junk i collected over the years. I knew that i won't be able to record vocals for it but After the Ashes stepped in and recorded amazing vocals. It's now something i could have never come up with.

Had some fun making a kind of drum and bass IDM kind of thing I played bass on this and use some fun synthesizers and I kind of went back to my little chiptune roots with this one with some pulse wave and square wave synth
