Hi! You may not know me, but I'm back.

I started out with this two-bar loop (the progression for bars three & four was brought in as the bassline): "Sunset Night" Original piano loop.

Then, I isolated just those five upper chords and bent from one to the next. Chopped it up manually, quantized to the nearest 64th, then imported & resynthesized each chop in Synplant. Here is the dry audio from Synplant, in case you need it: "Sunset Night" piano.

After I got all 16 bars of that, I put these drums in there to discover the working pulse-schema. Which seemed like an appropriate stopping point to upload to WeeklyBeats. From here I will try to flip this composition into a hip hop beat.

Can't remember a lot about this one to be honest, wrote it a week ago so I wouldn't forget it. Ending is very much giving the acoustic bit in Master of Puppets, remember this being fun and loud. Enjoy! :)

This is a week where I'm glad weeklybeats existed to push me to finish this track out! I'm sure everyone can relate to getting sick of a song halfway through making it. A bit rough around the edges but it's another finished composition, and now I can move on to bigger and brighter ideas.

Week 24

Goal at start 6/10:

I had planned to do a second attempt of my goals from last week, but since I don’t have time for a more in depth process this week, I’m going to try for something more spontaneous, or even abstract. I’ll go for a more in depth process on week 25.

End notes 6/11:

Doing this made me realize I could probably benefit by doing more melody only, no drums tracks for practice.

I might try to work some extra practice like this into my routine in addition to weekly beats.

This week I saw a gallery exhibit in Dallas about performing artist Xie Rong. I was inspired by the simplicity and spontaneity of her work and sought to achieve something similar with music.

Goal for next week:

Plan for a more in depth process and revisit my goals from week 23

AIM is a contest on Newgrounds where you create a music piece inspired by a piece of art. It feels where submitting this for both WeeklyBeats and AIM, but I'm too exhausted after finishing this piece to start another. It only took a few days to make, but I've currently ran out of ideas. Hope y'all enjoy! Apologies for no visualizer this week.

Anything can be a boss fight if you really think about it.
