yay! no longer homeless here. only lasted 2 months total, and it didn't feel terrible in retrospect: though my car is cramped and i had to sleep in a tight fetal position, i slept by the ocean on the Oregon coast quite often, and those particular nights were beautifully peaceful(i'm also grateful i have a car and didn't have to sleep on the street).... it makes me think that i'd love to own an RV and travel with a music studio, maybe even make music inside while someone else drives, haha... i heard 'Nightmares On Wax' did this over in Europe awhile back(here's a video about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhhks7RtV_o)... that sounds like paradise!
even if the other aspects of homelessness for me were pretty stressful(having to scrimp and save, trim down on food, sleep, not know what's coming next, worrying about threats to physical health and safety at night, etc.), i'm just relieved it didn't continue for a year or more in that state, would've been very unhealthy, but i was almost expecting it to.
gave up on Detroit, as i couldn't find what i thought was a fair deal(applied in Grand Rapids, Austin, Tucson, Las Vegas... so many different places just trying to get out of Kalamazoo as that started to grow stale in ways i need not mention), so now i'm in a 350 sq. ft. 'lower-income-housing' studio in Portland now(back to the west coast... i seem to resonate with the people and art scenes here better, too).
anyways, i still created speed trash for this week, as i'm still busy moving stuff out of storage, setting up in the new, transferring DMV, transferring state health care, etc.
maybe life can finally go upwards now.
...still grateful to hold the ability to survive all of this, and will continue to do so <3
