  • Week 23 - FardyCakes - Bionic Salad
Didn't get as far on this one as I'd like.  I really want to add some tasty licks on my guitar, but I also want to make the deadline.  I will work on this again in the near future.  Composed on the Dirty Wave M8 and then added some rhythm guitar.
    Keeping on.

  • Week 23 - scy - Alcyone
This week saw me visiting the 24th Gulaschprogrammiernacht, a hacker event in Germany, one I've been attending almost annually for something like 20 years now. It's been pretty great, as always, and this slow, evolving, atmospheric track emerged from the mood after the event, sitting next to the venue as the day slowly faded into night.

  • Week 23 - MRDRCAT - Bumblebee Bounce
Another last minute track! I started this one this afternoon when grabbing lunch in the middle of a day's worth of around-the-yard chores. I just had 1 measure of percussion and 4 of the lead. After dinner I came back to finish it as much as possible, but it's a rush job.
For this one I wanted to limit myself and see what happened. Limitations would help me concentrate on Getting Things Done, but I still wanted to push myself to get creative. My rules were:
Only 4 tracks (I broke that; there are 5 in use :( )
Exclusively Wavsynth; specifically, non-wavetable oscillators (square, saw, triangle, noise)
    All patches created from scratch
All percussion in a single track
Literally 1.5 hours and I had to pull the plug, but this turned out WAY better than it should have. Maybe I should panic-create more often. If you want the project, grab it!

  • Week 23 - home taping association - radio wires
back with a bit more of a proper piece this week.
all tracked into the 404.  acoustic guitars are in DADEAD (I think...) and recorded with an sm57 perched precariously on a bench.
synth sounds were from ableton note or an audio kit one (probably vhs synth)
beat was done in koala then dumped into the 404
all processed in the 404 then arranged in ableton

  • Week 23 - muhamor - Electric mango
Hi friends, hope you're doing well.
    › Production notes‹ Production notes
For a while I wasn't sure what I'd make this week. Wednesday night I was driving home listening to the local EDM/dance music radio station. Wednesdays are trance nights and I had a jolt of inspiration to make a trance track. Well, I was also listening to Neon Liminal's trance tracks, and thought they were super cool too! (go listen to Neon Liminal's stuff!)
So this week you get my first intentional attempt at trance music. Everything is composed and mixed on the M8. The synths are largely variations on the HYPERSYNTH engine, with some drum samples and also mikey303's acid preset. Saw waves are fun. I like saw waves :). Mixing is still hard and oh man is there a lot of reverb in trance.
    Thanks for stopping by!
