A friend sent me an audio of her playing guitar, and so I decided as a challenge to make a track out of it. Everything comes from the initial audio:

- playing in reverse + reverb to make the background swells

- isolated notes to make the melody

- isolated notes pitch-shifted an octave to make the banjo-like melody

- a small fragment pitch-shifted down to make the bass

- string slides and distorted bits to make the drums

It was a very fun exercise! I've been told it sounds like the Outer Wilds soundtrack and I can see why.

M8 all the way here, this entire song was inspired by and made on the top of a volcano in Italy (Mt Etna) overall FMy chiptune goodness ;), additionally was planning on adding vocals but was unsure of what the lyrics would be and how they would fit in such a full song regardless enjoy :)

So this started as an experiment with the opening piano/horn thing and I just noodled around with it till the end. Today I asked chatgpt to critique it and got some interesting ideas. It said I need more thematic development and better focus with more intent among alot of other stuff.

It also mentioned I should write the strings in divisi (there are no strings in this) and it didnt really detect piano until I told it theres alot of piano in there so grain of salt I guess. Anyway, I think Ill have it listen to some more stuff and get new ideas.

Im no fan of using AI to literally write music but this use did give me some ideas on what I think need improvement or ways to branch out.
