Setting up some new signal paths, and this is a bit of a test/demo song since I spent most of the week routing cables and whatnot . EZ drummer for the drums, but me with my bass and guitar mic'ed through a 73P mic preamp (Neve 1073 clone).

another s1 sample chop session on the m8

A shorter track than my usual but it felt appropriate.

Unrelated to this track but related to music.

I saw bone thugs n' harmony in concert this past Friday.

What a fantastic show, even better than I expected! In the realm of songwriting I'd really love to learn about their process and how their style came to be.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Huge heatwave around my place. Awful, draining, and scary when you think of what's going to happen then... Weekly Beats this summer will definitely need 2 more fans to move the air around ! Fingers crossed it means the summer will not be this hot (one can dream). So here I am, doing some piano shit. Cute things to keep the streak alive at least !

Wishing you well, don't forget to drink plenty, and lots of love

Old beat I decided to retune, add drums, clean up plucks, very traditional in the sense it feels almost like Baroque music, melodies intertwining.

Started and finished in this week - that's a first for me so far.  I always bounce around on my tracks all the time, so I have many dozens sitting around unfinished at any given time.  This one starts and ends with a joke, ha - I amuse myself.  I really like this one though.  Kind of inspired a bit by Jeff Beck's "Loose Canon" and trying to harness crazy guitar noise.  Much of it was me improvising on my midi keyboard (I play guitar, but not this well) and then fixing it in Bitwig and adding the pinch harmonics and an overly strong wah-wah effect.

It even has a sort of verse-chorus structure though it's an instrumental.  The original ending wrapped up right on the chord you expect with the cadence and it was just so trite, so I changed it to a completely new key, though related.

It's named after a pretty fella I found in my back yard.

Same story different week! Building up a nice backlog of decently finished sketches. All loops again.

Mashed together a break in 7/8 and some diminished scale ideas and some noisy nonsense and made a big fun mess.

The grimy synth and the break beat are made on the Deluge and sampled onto the M8
