  • Week 21 - sylcmyk - 梅田の夜空
Views from platform 1; looking out, looking in and between that momentary influx. Rushing to get to that staircase, to that exit, then catching a glance that freezes a moment in time. Another missed connection.

  • Week 21 - Tone Matrix - Punch Drunk Heart
    › notes‹ notes
Hello there.  Welp the afib has still been vying for attention this week.  But possibly some good news on the way as I finally got a call back from my doc and received a new medication to take when I have an episode.  I put the pill-in-pocket medication to use on the first day and it actually stopped the episode in 30mins :o Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.  A bit unproductive this week with the two episodes i had.  Like last week, this is a chord based thang where there isn't a big melody tickling your ears.  Just some quiet chords to get through the day (or afib episode). Mayhaps next week will be a full track with melody and drums :o orrrr just a noodle.  Either/or is fine with me.  I just want my heart to agree!
Thank you for stopping by and listening.  I look forward to checking out this week's tunes <3

  • Week 21 - squelette - Mouettes
Currently in Gaspésie to help good friends of mine with renovations. The place they bought needs to be completely redone because it's covered in tertiary smoke. It's absolutely filthy but it's coming along.
Their view over the Atlantic is to die for.
Working remotely and renovating in my free time, I am kind of exhausted at this point but we're having lots of fun.
We had lobster the other day and tonight is homemade chowder. Really wouldn't mind living here lol
I've had something like 2h total in the week to make music, so I hope you will pardon me for this stupid little Earthbound ''type beat'' I did on the fly , using seagull recordings from a previous trip in Maine. You can blame it the tertiary smoke and sheetrock dust I've been inhaling.

  • Week 21 - Tweaklab - Sleeptopia
Made in about 10 minutes after a huge week. Youngest turned 6, she had a great time. Her birthday party was at the bike centre so her and her little friends got to ride bikes and have cake and fun for 2 hours.
This track represents the super human abilities unlocked with parenthood, having the energy for all this outside of work and the day to day grind of keeping 3 other humans alive and well!

  • Week 21 - NickLong - Megelegie
Unfortunately I was very sick all week (still bad 7 days later) and couldn't work on anything elaborate this week so I turned to the ever reliable Polyend Tracker Mini and blasted out a simple jam in an hour.
The samples come from a combination of a Mega FM sample pack made by Bardial:  https://www.youtube.com/@Bardial-o4y
and a recording of "Elegie Song of Mourning" from 1912
    https://archive.org/details/78_elegie-song-of-mourning_alma-gluck-and-efrem-zimbalist-massenet_gbia0009500a
Why this weird mashup, who knows I just needed stuff without copyright. It seems to go together surprisingly ok.
Everything fully recorded and mixed on the Polyend Tracker Mini, with just a bit of limiting in Logic afterwards. It's really an impressive box for knocking out a track quickly.
