  • Week 21 - Fàtima - Needles and Diamonds
High-quality metal needles were precious, often gifted in ornamental cases. They were highly durable, which allowed for intricate embroidery—such as the famous English Opus Anglicanum.

  • Week 21 - rdomain - Interiors
This is a one take performance using only two modules (Oxi Coral, Clouds) and the Oxi One sequencer.  I wanted to create a piece with minimal hardware and this combo works a treat!
I recently got the Coral for polyphonic/multitimbral work and I'm very happy with what it's capable of although it comes with a learning curve.  Once learnt though, it's not too bad at all.
The Oxi One sequencer I've been delving into heavily too recently and it's such a great sequencer.  Here it's sequencing 2 tracks on different midi channels with generative elements to keep it interesting.  It's also sending out a  controlled voltage to Clouds to control the Position parameter.  You can actually hear this parameter at the end of the piece as I stopped the sequencer but it created further sounds as the LFO from the Oxi One was still manipulating the position of the buffer in Clouds.  I love happy accidents.  Another reason why hardware is incredibly rewarding to create on.
The concept of the piece is interior thoughts.  Keeping your mind calm and happy yet sometimes it's difficult to maintain high positivity and your thoughts can start sliding in the opposite direction, sometimes with moments of hope though.  I was also trying to create a much less darker piece from last week which I think was achieved.  Probably not too difficult seeing the dark level was high last week.  Haha.  I still found last week's track to be quite beautiful at the same time though.  I've been told that's a recurring element in my work.  It can come across as dark yet it can be quite beautiful at the same time.

  • Week 21 - gify - Strawberry Rhubarb / Rainbow Fields
Now that we're getting into Summer, I'm starting to feel the time crunch. Luckily, a bunch of my weekend errands were cut short due to rain and I had more time than expected to mash this out today. :)
I kept it simple with a bassline jam on my new IK Multimedia Uno Synth. I used a Behringer Cat for the arpy-sounding synth, along with some live knob twiddling during rendering. The other synths are random patches from the Bitwig synths and one Synth1 track.

  • Week 21 - langston - P.o.S. (カラオケ)
Attempt to Capture the general feel and gear of a particular Belgian Electro Industrial Band.
Not a recreation, but a re-imagining, sticking strictly to late 80's early 90's workflows and limitations (well virtually anyway)

  • Week 21 - EME - Crank
Bit of a weird one this week, I ended up finding an older eurorack jam I did when my setup was drastically different. So this week I mixed mastered and overall finished the track weird funky squelchy acidy bleepy thing ;)

  • Week 21 - note! - Chambered Apc (LOUD)
I broke out the only "synth" I've ever made from absolute scratch: a riff on the atari punk console (556 oscillator instead of the 555, added a 4017 to build a small 4 step sequencer). Built in 2003 while I was living in Japan and housed in an old iPod packaging box.
It's still one of my favorite instruments to play with. It has so much character. It's so fun to mess around with and I feel like I always get something interesting. Just have never known how to use it for anything or with anything haha.
Fun fact: it also appears in one of my earliest YT uploads, 17 years ago loool
