Sure wasn't coming together easily this week. End up being a bit of an edited live jam, wish i got on to it and did this sooner. Was good fun flexing the rack fx for this.

I recently came across a book I read for undergraduate philosophy studies, and I recalled a passage that I'm sure Monty Python was aware of. Hildegard von Bingen was a mystic philosopher with the Catholic church, and she is known for her visions and verses. One of the visions is that of a Cosmic Egg. Naturally I had to revisit the passage and sample a couple of my favorite bits.

I chopped up one of her canticles, which is unironically one of my favorite vocal pieces, "Ave Maria, O Auctrix Vite." This canticle inspired an orchestral piece I performed in college which was one of my favorites of the repertoire, "Rainbow Body" by Theofanidis.

All of this is done on the P-6.

Dew to unforseen circumstances, I'm pretty stressed out. This all i got in me this week.

In a very busy weekend, I managed a late Friday tracking session for the first theme and the middle section, and then another late Saturday for the rest, with what energy I'd had left. If I'd had a bit more time, I probably could have made this one shorter, with a few stronger themes, but here's what we have. Nearly everything I tracked ended up in here, with very little waste.

Three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola into the UA Volt, bit of convolution reverb send and compression/eq/limiter on the stereo mix.

The title comes from Alander Mountain in Massachusetts, which has a higher peak elevation than 645m, but the part of the west slope that crosses the Taconic Trail does so at 645m, and I ran out of time on the title.

I'm still gravitating towards more uneasy, darker melodies. I wanna write something peaceful next week, I swear.
