  • Week 17 - hieroglitch - 2026_17
Extract from a 30 minute recording. Most of it would be good enough for an EP so into the vault it goes.
Two and a half sound sources:
    Shakmat Battering Ram
    Noise Engineering Manis Iteritas Alia
    Bastl Dark Matter
This part is from about 2/3rds of the way through. The bass drone is from the FX track: Bastl Dark Matter and Mutable Instruments Rings. Not at the same time, alternating between them with live patching.
Dark Matter is so difficult to handle but it creates some incredible sounds.
Experimentations with sending Manis Iteritas Alia gates through Steppy. Worked out well.
Steppy is usually for sequencing and because it sends gates, they can be a fun modulation source.
There was some really weird moments in the larger recording where sounds seem to appear from no where. Strange resonance in the machine.

  • Week 17 - Stenny - Happy Little Clams
So I think I'm going oystering this weekend...? I'm not totally sure. Either way, gunna put something out now just in case! Whipped up this simple little thing up in a few hours without thinking too much. Created some silly little critters on a silly little beach doing happy little relaxing things. Manifest!!

  • Week 17 - Colorcast - Eighteen Years
Today (4/23) is my birthday, so as with every year I made a song for the occasion.
I had a different song I originally wanted to make for this week, but I ended up not liking it so I just did this instead
    Previous birthday jams:

  • Week 17 - parappayo - Bored Hole
This week I've got some Bastl Softpop 2 bass with some Polyend Tracker drums. I love how juicy the filter on the SP2 is. I didn't go too crazy there, and the beat doesn't really match the bassline, but whatever. I'm embracing the wonky factor this week. The drum samples are from a variety of sources but sampled some of them myself specifically for this composition using a Korg Volca Drum. The delay effects are Arturia VSTs added afterward.

  • Week 17 - MrAtlantis69 - Lost In My Ways
Something I threw together on Guitar then moved to keys. I couldn't find a definitive ending, like every section came from trying to end the song and it just didn't sound right, so I eventually decided on a fadeout. Bit of a Genre mashup in places, hope you enjoy!

  • Week 17 - dreeks - (12pm)
so i've been working on this album inspired by the nintendo 3ds soundtrack. 8am-11am has been uplifting and ambient. 7pm-10pm has been melancholic and ambient. now we move onto the middle of the album, 12pm-16pm, which is going to be unpredictable, weird and far more beat driven.

  • Week 17 - 0F - rain (bones)
I've been in job application hell for the past few weeks so haven't really been able to do too much in terms of "finished" music.
Here's something I wrote years and years ago with a friend as an acoustic demo, tried to resurrect a few years later and didn't get very far, and then remembered the other day after listening to the most recent Ulver album, so I put together this skeleton version as a sketch of the vague layout of the song. The lead sound will eventually be replaced by a (lower octave) vocal when/if I can write some lyrics for it. I also want to get a bit of chorus guitar/bass vi in there at some point!
