  • Week 15 - BurnedOutSun - these new strings won't solve old problems
And it's another one made from recording from the jam :D
    Should've EQ'ed it for a bit at least :(
@dreat on drums and @lecroquemonsieur on bass.
Last week was screwing around with tapping on guitar (it's something that I've never done really) and accidentally stumbled upon something the sound of which I liked.
We've decided that it sounds midwest-emoish and jammed around the idea for a bit. After which I hastily cut the recording and layered another guitar on top so that I can at least tell myself that I did a bit more work and not just cut recording from the jam lol
Also there was a small screwup on my part and upon getting home and taking the guitar out I realized that I didn't tune it once during the jam session *facepalm*
So I obviously tuned it immediately (which may have been a second mistake), thus on parts where I played in sync with the guitar on recording - it sounds... I want to think that it sounds chorus'y and not just detuned :'D
But well, it is what it is.
I like the idea and will play around it a bit more probably.

  • Week 15 - MyloWhyTho - GIVE AND TAKE
This was an exhausting week, and I feel like my track somewhat embodies that?
Syntakt. Vocal. Ableton. Splice. Reverse. Chop. Mangle.
Curious to hear what sort of thoughts/feelings this one evokes in y'all :)

  • Week 15 - Stenny - IF IT HELPS YOU
Guess who left 0 time for mixing, smoothing over edges, second passes, etc? BUT I submitted on time... so there's that!
A parallel take on my last submission, "HURT US, HURT ME". It was born out of a riff that I had to cut from that piece, and features same instruments, plus a few new friends from previous submissions. Percussion consists of sounds I recorded while attending a protest, and given more time, I would have cleaned those parts up and focused on nailing down a solid kick drum sound. Not disappointed with the piece though!

had very limited time so stuck to AbletonNote while in transit again. basic loops and simple arrangement almost matching the there-and-back loop of Intergrity, Orion, and Artemis II overall.

  • Week 15 - sleepside - Goldenrod Connection
In case I have to post before I finish writing:
I don't usually make happy music. This is an attempt. Trying to channel Soichi Terada a bit. Guitar is played by me, trying to pull some samba vocabulary. Everything sequenced on M8, including the Rhodes samples
Bundle link (will include bundles for all my WB M8 Tracks)

  • Week 15 - TheDaeVolta - you were supposed to be....
A track about leaving religion behind.
    CC always appreciated!
The synth melody is essentially the Zelda 'secret' sound, but changed key with the timing messed up - really fun technique I'd never tried before!

    You
    were supposed to be
    love
    You
    were supposed to be above
    it all
    I was taught
    to live your example
    others were taught
    to hate (hate)
    I tried to
    give them a sample
    they were guided
    by another trait
    You
    were supposed to be
    love
    You
    were supposed to be above
    it all
    Fearing you felt
    like an contradiction
    the thought made me go
    off track (track)
    it always felt
    like a fiction
    And everything started
    to crack (crack)
    You
    were supposed to be
    love
    You
    were supposed to be above
    it all
    I had to do some
    soul searchin'
    Didn't take me long
    to see (see)
    with this new knowledge
    my life can begin
    Now I truly
    feel free (Free)
    You
    were supposed to be
    love
    You
    were supposed to be above
    it all
    It's not a break
    it's an evolution
    you're not fake
    just an illusion
    excuse to hate
    and give delusion
    You used to guide me
But I have a new solution
    You
    were supposed to be
    love
    You
    were supposed to be above
    it all
    beyond
    all of that
    you give community
    and that's just
    what the people need
    and that's just
    what the people need
    need
    need
    need
    need need need
    need
