Some bass for ya. Lots of parameters being automated randomly here, which has been really interesting during production since it sounds different each time. For example, the sounds after the bass-pulses at 00:55 and forward are all dependent on the random automation.

All drums (except for the kick) are sampled from sounds the bass generates. The atmosphere is also mainly sampled from the bass.

Another mono production on the THC Recursive Machine. Needed a bit of a mindless drone jam this Sunday afternoon, after a slightly rough weekend. I caught a cold on Friday & had to take my partner to the ER on Saturday, but all is good now.

So yeah, there was fun to be had tweaking the tiny potentiometers (analog delays, filter, reverb, LFOs, mixer), and this is what it turned into. Those bucket brigades lead to very nice sounds, will look deeper into that later. Performed live in on take.

I got inspired by RPKLTR and his

1. two part entry

2. using weeks as time signatures

So this is in 11/8 (week 11), is a one of three songs with the same theme (and, my goals is to have the same instrument set).

This one is about First Blue aka FB, our central character. Lack of lyrics (being for 18+hrs in train and on conference certainly doesn't help with lyrics recording) make it not so obvious, so let's just vibe speak of itself.

I also added my "signature delayed crash" that I play a lot when jamming on drums.

I'm really happy how B-section aka "chorus" ended up.

(mixing in train is not so easy, so I'm afraid mix is not best, but it is that it is)

Actually I bought a new lamp in this week.

This one started as kind of a lullaby feel with the keys thoughout the track. I then layer on some deep multilayer drones to bring the feel down (Iridium there) followed up by drums to keep us moving forward. There's a brief break midway through which keeps the mood on the grey side which the song transitioning back to the early feel. It ends on a subtle feel.
