  • Week 15 - J_men - Introspective
This one was trying to practise a bit more of a Liquid DnB sound, I still don't think I've quite got the right vibe, but I'm happy with how this came out.
Was actually asking AI to help come up with some music theory ideas to experiment with.
The 4 chord progression is written over a "pedal tone" so that they sound different in each repeat, but only the bass note has actually changed

  • Week 15 - franky - Ambulate
    Week 15.."Ambulate"
Not my initial project per say. Originally started producing this at 128bpm, but I sped it up to 138bpm for fun and couldn't hear it slow after that, ha.
    So here we are..
Picked up Serum 2 on Thursday after saving up for it for a few months..it sure is nice. Its practically its own DAW. Its overwhelming, so I picked up a few presets to get me going.
Although making my own sounds is a new step, its not entirely what I'm looking to do. *future me reading this will laugh a little* Also so I could remain in my comfort zone and workflow (when will I break the change?) I have 3 instruments in Serum 2 to which I programmed a note sequences in Ableton and added effects and added my drum kit in Ableton that's programmed with one shot (no tops, pretty proud of that) drum samples from various packs on Splice. Pinned the limiter and listened to this on repeat for hours, even listened in my car and I'm super happy about the mix overall.
Really wish there was a "like button" on Weekly Beats. Sometimes I like someone's song and I don't really know why..I just like it? and I have no idea what to comment.
Thanks for listening! Hope you liked it, I'll be sure to listen to your songs this week too! Take care all.
    Till next time on...Weekly Beats!

Hardcore Breakbeat with a bit of chiptune thrown in for good measure.

  • Week 15 - sylcmyk - Attentionrapter
    Probably shouldn't've bleached my hair.
(Slightly related but Part 1: https://weeklybeats.com/sylcmyk/music/passionkisser)
My (2nd) Ana'pocket's all messed up, broken screen, messed up headphone jack - I think I'll lay her to rest for a bit and just go back to making classical piano music for a while!

  • Week 15 - sdhizumi - AMIGOS-Test_2026W15
AMIGOS is a VST3 effector by Vidar Audio. It was released at some days ago.
It is an emulator of Amiga 500/1200 with a printer port ADC. I used this effector at master track with EQ that is for boost upper 6kHz (Yes, It is a treble booster). I like this :)

  • Week 15 - rjlmrq - Week 15: Sarena
The new things this week: adding compression, distortion, and EQ to the snare, and running everything to one or both of two reverb sends. Named after a newly discovered breakfast spot.

  • Week 15 - DanielD - Slide (XV)
Another house groove. For years I've been practicing an extremely disciplined mantra focusing on repetition and minimalism in order to 1.) create a uniform sound, 2.) recreate the limitations of hardware, and 3.) undo all the years of progressive/technical music that I grew up with. I think I'm finally getting to a point of confidence in sticking to one idea without using excess as a creative crutch. It probably isn't for everyone, but this has always been my goal since beginning to make music.

  • Week 15 - BarristerPlong - Red Numbers
Back so soon? We're delighted to see you return. Please have a seat at the bar, Jack is already preparing your drink just as you like it.
Some sloooow jazz this week. This is my slowest bpm at a leasurely 40bpm. It's a traditional 1-6-2-5 then 3-6-2-5 jazz progression, done in a minor key instead of the usual major.
I had initially tried a couple of smooth jazzy lines on my guitar, but I could not nail the execution so I went with some nice shell voicings.
    Happy week 15!
