Yo!!

This week, I decided to make a M4L midi effect for my new track. It's a midi trigger generator with some MSEG and pattern bank. Very fun :)

I will release it next week on my Patreon and Gumroad (def need cash…).

I made this track using this tool, MGenBend. I don't really know what to think about it. I wanted to break some rules, to make transitions between different themes and meters.

Also, I slept like 2 hours last night so finishing the damn thing was pretty hard haha.

First off, I will catch up on comments and listening to some of your tracks this week! I really need to decompress and enjoying all of your tunes is just the trick.

Every time I sit down to write lyrics they end up being about the current ummm..."situation". I may recycle these lyrics in a heavier tune down the road but felt like making some folk this week. I recorded the vocals in a few quick sessions so levels and clarity are a bit inconsistent, overall though I'm pretty happy with this one -- it's a mood for sure. Enjoy!

Another instrumental due to an ongoing cold that means singing is a no-go!

Went for a more fun, upbeat feel this week. Kinda gives me anime theme song vibes... but I don't watch anime, so maybe that's miles off!

Had fun programming some busy drums too - using the Slate drums 5.5 kit as always, but used a different, more dry and brighter kit than usual.

Give it up for Week 5!!! I was undecided on which of the two tracks I was working on this last week would make the final cut, but I think this track was too fun to make not to upload :) This one features a bunch of Fors synths (what's new...) including Chiral, Dyad, and Junior... in addition to some Serum 2, Splice vocal chops, and some processed percussion samples (stock from Ableton Suite).

Caught a cold before I even started my WB submission, so I got hopped up on cold meds and knocked this out. 1.5 hours to get the synth patches created and the track sketched out, another half hour to tweak some variation into it, then over two more hours to get the voice samples in place. Why is THAT what takes the longest? I wanted to use a horror movie, but nothing actually horrifying. Bloody Pit of Horror to the rescue! This 1965 horror movie has awful dialogue, worse delivery, and just the right mood for this track. It's not "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats" bad, but it's not good.

Not sure what the mix actually sounds like - probably too bassy, but either way I'm sorry.
