Ahoy hoy fellow music nerds! Well this is the first week that I hit the wall and had to really push through. I have another big creative project in the background that is taking up a ton of my mental and creative energy... and then you know... life generally still exists. So this one, is a liiiiiiitle more rough around the edges that I would have liked... but Jegasus said, "the Beats, they are Weekly". I will say that getting back into the habit of finishing a thing every week is starting to bring out that deep desire to complete work generally. And, I think there is great value in pushing through with creative endeavors even when they don't feel like they are/have come together.
So, with all that, I'm still in hardware land for this weeks track. I only had one modular voice, but all the core sounds are coming from physical synths, and I think I'm really finally starting to figure out a workflow that I enjoy. I ended up spending exactly the same amount of time on this track as I did, on week 3, and I got a LOT more done in that time, so, while the first "wall" is looming, I'm also building up a bunch of muscle memory, that I think will make pushing through it a lot easier this year.
I hope you are all as well as can be expected, and I'm looking forward to just vegging out and listening to all the awesome tracks from the week.

Ok, so this week is again, the Syntakt, the Virus TI2, and Deckard's Voice but...
Deckard's Voice is the bass... no Pizza. It's Deckard's into Racheal, which is getting the same 1V/OCT input, but it's tuned about 50 cents sharp to get that pulsing "beat" via ring modulation. After that it's pretty much just going into reverb (via FX Aid), and then a tiny bit of distortion from Trash (in the DAW).
The drums are a little bit basic, but I was trying to say out of the way of the bass... I do like how some of the percs came out, but a lot of that is the result of Isotope Neutron presets, with minor tweaks. I was moving fast this week.
All the rest of the synth voices are from the Virus, and I'mma be honest with you... they are just stock presets, with some Replica XT in the DAW... I was not feelin' it this week, and I medium phoned in this track. I also didn't really do much in the mix so, I mean I'm always open to feedback, but I'd love to hear anything anyone might have to say about how they would improve the mix. This is really just a 40 minute, first pass, rough mix. There's no automations, there's only basic gain staging and leveling, and then I did a quick pass of channel strip work for each track... but like... bare bones... and I don't often get a chance to get feedback on like a "rough draft" of a mix, so please, criticize away... trust me the feelings I have about this track... can't be hurt.
