Every storm in life has a purpose, and ultimately it's so that Jesus is known and glorified. But it's more beautiful and deeper than you think.

Not knowing who Jesus really is, PERSONALLY, will affect our worship In this particular storm, the disciples (followers of Jesus) on the boat didn't worship Jesus until they knew who He really was! Not knowing who Jesus really is, PERSONALLY, will also affect our rest The disciples didn't find rest until they knew who Jesus really was.

Our hearts are necessary for survival and what the heart needs is necessary for life. Oftentimes, we get mad at God for not giving us what we verbally ask for, when in reality, He's looking at our hearts and giving us what we need for survival. What we need for survival in our eyes may not be what we need for survival in the eyes of God. There's rest in knowing that when we go to Jesus for anything, what He gives us will always be what we need for survival!

Anxiety is not something you can just overcome on your own. It is not something you just “have to get over.” Doing anything in your own strength will only make things worse (Philippians 4:6-7). Anxiety is something that the Bible tells us not to do, but the reality is that just because we know what not to do doesn’t mean that we know how to not do what we shouldn’t. Paul says we desire to do good but don’t know how to (Romans 7:18-19).

Rest from Jesus comes when we can admit we cannot fix our problems. Jesus is the ONLY one who can cleanse us from anxiety, and He does this on His own.

We all have many weaknesses, but Jesus came to die for those weaknesses. Many of us use these weaknesses against ourselves. Jesus wants our weaknesses because He paid for them with His life. In exchange, His strength and power rest on us. What weaknesses are you holding on to? What weaknesses are you needing Jesus' strength to rest on?

Imagine having to carry your own filth every day and only being able to be cleaned up once a year. Imagine someone cleansing you, for you, but that person could only cleanse you once a year? Jesus came to change this. He saw our incapability of cleaning up the mess in our lives. He saw that the priest doing a cleansing once a year wasn't enough. Jesus came to give us a 365-day cleansing from Him. With His cleansing comes 365 days of rest

As an Umbilical cord feeds nutrients from mom to the baby, so Jesus feeds all things necessary for Rest and Life from God to us.

As an umbilical cord leaks waste from baby to Mom for cleansing from her blood, so mankind can leak their mess onto Jesus to be cleansed of His blood daily.

We are in need of being connected to an umbilical cord of Jesus for Life and Rest.
