  • The Wonderful World of Bad Relationships

Hey hey hey! I just wanted to let you know that there is a video version of this episode available to Producer level patrons (that's the $4.99 tier) where you can see myself and David sitting around my dining table slangin' that good ol'fashioned digi-advice (and you really won't want to miss David finding his old Italian man voice... it's quite the sight).

Special thank you to our Producer Sam!

    Enjoy the episode!

    -----

Whether it's friends, family or partners, relationships can be difficult to navigate. No one really teaches you how to have difficult conversations. How to break up with someone. Or even how to hide $2 million dollars from your girlfriend.

You're just thrown into the deep end of life and expected to not only not die, but thrive. And that can feel impossible some times. And while this is an advice episode with my friend David, you probably aren't going to leave with anything particularly useful or applicable. But at least we can take some time out, listen to the problems of others and think... "At least that ain't me."

Like our first advice seeker who won $2,000,000 in the lottery. A joyous time. One for celebrating. Usually with the ones you love most. Right? Well... it turns out that he doesn't exactly want his girlfriend of 3 years to know about the money. He says she's bad with money and that he never plans on getting married so there's no reason for her to know right? (His words).

Or what about our second advice seeker who understands that her roommate being cheated on by her boyfriend of 3 years is heartbreaking and all... but she has ears and crying is just so annoying to listen to, right? As it turns out, asking your heartbroken roommate to "cry quieter" isn't exactly the ideal solution.

Our third advice seeker knows her boyfriend is a shitty gift giver, so she wants to avoid the whole situation and skip giving each other gifts this past Christmas. Then when things pan out exactly how she predicted with him not even getting her a present, she wants to know if giving herself the gift she bought for him is a socially acceptable move.

Then we have our Patreon exclusive question where a guy trying to traverse the digital dating realms doesn't know when to disclose his history of crime.

I hope you enjoy this episode! Thanks as always for listening and don't forget to share the show with a friend.

I'll talk to you again soon. Love ya. Peace.

  • 2019: A Sexy Year In Review

2019. What a year it was.

And really what better way is there to honor 2019 than to look back over the past year with a thorough and in-depth analysis of our ...secrets, our desires.

Episode 47 of the podcast is a peek behind the curtain and into the secret lives and fantasies of all of us humans across the globe. And how could we possibly do that you ask? Why, with Porn Hub's 2019 Year In Review stats of course.

Now, I gotta warn you. This episode is all about sex, taboos, tab-YOUs, fantasies, desires, and quite frankly the sexiest thing of them all... statistics. That's right, cold hard numbers.

What's also interesting are the insights provided in the report by Dr. Laurie Betito of the Sexual Wellness Centre, who links a lot of the data to the potential reasoning behind the choices people make and the associated growth and decline in certain categories of pornography.

Then we finish up on good, clean and wholesome news story involving a break-and-enter toe sucker. Just business as usual here on Weird But Wonderful.

There's also a video version of this episode, which will be going up on the Patreon for Producer tier patrons!

I hope you enjoy this episode, thanks as always for listening! Share the show with a friend... although I understand if maybe you wanna give this episode a miss for sharing with friends and family. But hey if you're brave, have at it!

    Love ya. Peace.

Special thank you to our Producer Sam!

  • What Christmas is really all about

It's that special time of year again where every film and song rubs a winter wonderland in our faces while we all melt in 40+ degree heat. But Christmas can also be a time for learning, for teachable moments, for Christmas Carrol-like revelations.

This episode is all about how to handle some standard holiday fare while also keeping in mind what Christmas is really all about.

    ---

The simple 6 steps to cope with food pushers over the holidays:

    • Humour
  • Teaching moments
  • No, thank you!
  • Reassurance
  • Divert and deflect
  • Turn around
  • Question 1: Am I an asshole for demanding the same Christmas present as my stepbrother?

Two 17-year-old brothers are faced with a pretty significant gift difference - a gifterence. One gets a car, the other gets $600.

So he does what any 17 year old does, he bails and tells his stepbrother to "get in his civic and fuck off".

You goofed it on this one mum and dad.

As always, we get the input of the people with The People's Response.

Question 2: Am I right to feel screwed by Christmas?

The classic Christmas move of "we're only buying for the kids."

This question hit home for me as I too have been the victim of this Christmas conundrum. It's a difficult situation that requires a very serious and bold response.

We also put our finger on the pulse with The People's Response.

  • It's just good advice

We're back with another advice episode! I had so much fun recording this episode, I miss the banter of 2 people pod, and I hope to put out more bonus content with David. We're planning to record a new show together, which I talked about in the December update video, which you can watch right now on our Patreon if you're a supporter!

Question 1: Vaping teens at the cinema

My grandpa and I went to the movies and sat in the row right before the very back. 4 teenagers sat right behind us. During the ads and previews they were talking, laughing and coughing, which I didn't have a problem with because I figured they'd stop when the movie came on.

I could hear a crackling sound off and on and they would giggle right after. I figured out they were vaping and trying to hide the smoke. I waited around 45 minutes to tell a manager. 10 minutes later staff came in and didn't say anything to the teenagers so I went back to the manager and asked again.

This time there were 2 guys around the age of the ones behind us in the movie. They heard me talking about it with the manager. When I got back to the movie I noticed 2 of the 4 guys were missing. The manager told them there had been complaints and if there was any more they'd be kicked out.

A few minutes later the two guys from the concession stand who overheard me talking to the manager came in and sat behind us. The guys all started talking about it and obviously knew it was me. The one behind me put his feet in the back of my chair and they kept talking loudly about me. I got up and left the theater waiting outside for my grandpa. AITA for not letting kids be kids?

    Question 2: $80,000 gift from a co-worker

My partner, 31, and I, 28, are in a long-distance relationship until I move to where she is next year. Yesterday was her birthday and she told me a co-worker, who is apparently rich, offered to organize a party for her at a fancy hotel all paid for by him.

She refused claiming it was ‘out of her league’. After that, she also told me he offered to pay for her masters that costs $80,000 and that she was... considering it. This is not something we couldn’t afford with a little sacrifice. I told her considering the offer was a clear strike against our relationship as there is no way someone you’ve known for a couple of months could offer that without an ulterior motive.

The last thing she said to me is that I ruined her birthday and we’ll talk next week. Am I the asshole here? What do I do?

Question 3: Guy on my street vandalized my car over a parking spot

A month ago, I parked in a spot on a public road (the street I live on) that someone had tried to save for themselves using a folding chair. The next Monday I went to take my car to work and noticed someone had spray-painted BITCH across the whole side of my car.

I went to the police and it wasn't too hard to figure out what dumbass did it. A few neighbors knew who always put the chair out to save the spot and figured it was them. A neighbors doorbell camera feed proved it. I got a $1200 settlement for the damages and decided not to use it to fix my car because my car's a $2500 junker that I'm planning on replacing within the year anyway.

I instead got my boyfriend to print me a big red vinyl sticker saying BAD, and another that's a "censoring" exclamation point and I put it on my car so it reads BAD B!TCH now.

My friends and coworkers think it's funny, but I've heard from other neighbors that it's pissing off my neighbor that did it because it's reminding him I took his money and didn't fix my car. It's annoying a dad who lives on the street because he doesn't want kids seeing it and it's annoying a couple of other people who think it makes our area look trashy.

AITA for not covering up my vandalized car, and taking humor from it instead?

  • The Great Wachowski War of the 22nd Century

It's the end of the world as we know it. This is the point in time where we'll all look back and realize - oh yeah, obviously that was the beginning of the end. The Wachowskis tried to warn us - or perhaps, they orchestrated the whole thing.

Russian farmers trialing VR goggles on cows to produce more milk

Special thank you to Adam for sending in this story. Turns out, we no longer need to address the root cause of any of our problems - we can just ignore it with VR!

VR goggles, modified for the shape of cow heads, are being used to display a 'unique summer field simulation program' in order to decrease anxiety in cows to help them produce more milk.

This is phase 1 in the Matrixing of society. Soon we'll all be in pods wearing VR goggles while the Boston Dynamics robots are using us as human batteries.

Businesswoman calls for $10,000 sex dolls to be made available for free on the National Health Service

Jade really tries to downplay the use of her dolls for sex, which is a little difficult when the name of your business is SEXDOLLOFFICIAL!

Some psychiatrists claim the dolls have therapeutic qualities, while others believe the dolls will only further alienate and isolate people, making their issues much much worse.

Jade claims "most buyers simply want a companion around the house."

SexDollOfficial offers bespoke, tailor-made specifications for their products. Some clients have asked for horns on their heads, spikes on their backs and Medusa hair.

For a negligible $10,000 - you too can own your own ...companion.

61-year-old road rage driver spits food into woman's mouth during a traffic incident

Just when you thought shit on the road couldn't get more tense and fucked up - David Paul Wipperman spits a gobful of food into a woman's mouth.

Well done David - you won our "Biggest Piece of Shit of the Month" award.

But now, as an adult, everything's changed. We've got our guard up. We're afraid to approach strangers. It's considered "weird" if I blast a smile in your direction and yell HELLO from the other side of a coffee shop.

In our latest journey into the minds of strange people doing strange things, a psychologist recommends watching Christmas films ALL YEAR ROUND as they claim it's "good for your health" and not at all something a psychopath would do.

We head over to Fort Madison, Iowa, where Benjamin Schreiber, who briefly died in hospital, claims he has now served his life sentence and should be released.

Finally, we discover a man who decides his nose is the best hiding spot on the human body... but forgets to retrieve it for 18 years.

  • Why Women Love True Crime

Why is true crime so popular? and why is the true-crime audience so heavily populated by women? This week's deep dive uncovers what it is about the true crime genre, and serial killers, that is so attractive to women. Are social media and reality TV the most modern cause of female fascination with killers? Or is it perhaps an evolutionary or Darwinian motive?

  • The Guide to Life #Advice

Whether it's family issues, relationship drama or work challenges - we all run into problems in life from time to time. So in a very Dear Dolly / Advice column fashion, David and I attempt to tackle some advice seeker problems and help out where we can.

    Questions:

    • My girlfriend and I have been dating for a little over 7 months and she did nothing for my birthday. Her birthday was this past Friday and I intentionally made no plans to get back at her. Does she get to paint herself as the victim here? Am I an asshole? Or am I good?
  • Our 40-year-old married song had a password-protected file on our home computer. After recently getting our computer fixed the file was no longer protected and contained nude images of himself and past girlfriends, as well as his current wife. Do I dare selectively delete the racy images or do I talk to my son about this?
