Hello Friends,

This week was a doozy, and I felt incredibly grateful to receive messages from the Light and Arch Angel Gabriel that helped expand my awareness about what was going on and why. I wanted to share this guidance they provided because it helped me so much!

One of the things I’ve really been working on is advice Arch Angel Gabriel provided. He said that, when things are particularly tough, being able to oscillate between our very real human emotions and our understanding of what is happening from a big picture higher perspective actually functions to move the energies, and is a healing force in and of itself. So every time I feel the intense feelings of a thing, I remember to allow that oscillation to take place, and I’m finding it really helps!

I hope this episode finds you all well, and that the advice I was given this week helps with whatever challenges you’re facing.

I’ve recently had cording come up a bunch in both conversations and in healing work, so I thought it might be a good time to have a chat about it here. Cutting cords is one of my favorite psychic hygiene practices, because I’ve seen and felt how it has changed all my relationships for the better.

In this episode, I share some of what I’ve learned about cords, and how to cut them, and tell a couple stories about how it’s helped me in my life. I also regularly cut cords after working with someone, and I think it’s such an important tool for anyone doing healing work with others.

I’ve realized recently that I use words for alchemy. They are the way that I process and transmute old energies, and they are an incredibly useful tool in my healing kit. Words might not be how you do it, but I thought in sharing this story about how I’m changing my words to change my energies, it might help you recognize some of the tools you use to do the same.

In this episode, I also share some of the energetic and karmic imbalances I’m working to heal — in particular those around how we work together and co-create with beings of Light who are not embodied here in the physical. The angels and devas and fairies helped me with this, showing me how we work together and why it’s important.

I’m learning so many interesting things right now! I’ve been drawn to some books and newsletters that are talking about the science of nature, and it’s so exciting to see how what I’m reading intersects and overlaps with what I’m learning from being in nature and communicating with the plants and nature spirits.

My guides are delighted when I learn new things, and are often excited to build upon these new frames of reference, so when I tuned in this week, my tree deva friend Ahramein was there hoping to share a message about what the trees hope for us to learn.

It’s all about interdependence, he said, showing me how every cell, atom and molecule that makes up each one of us is connected to every cell, atom and molecule of everything else. He encourages us to open our hearts to understand this more deeply, and assures us that this is a gateway to fully embodying more of our own true selves.

As I look out the window, everything is gray and white. A few weeks ago, I might not have known what day it was, or had any ideas for how to fill my time with things that lift my heart. But now, I know exactly what day it is — it’s Organizing Day!

Maybe organizing isn’t something that makes your heart happy, but around here, it’s a love language. And each week, we have a day dedicated to doing something that makes our lives more organized.

Our lives are a bit unstructured in winter, without the garden to fill every hour from sun up to sun down, and we found we were getting a bit depressed as one day blurred into the next, with only our Laundry Day to anchor our week. So we sat down and thought about what makes us happy. Cooking and baking, organizing and tidying the basement each got their own day every week. Don’t judge — we just love what we love!

We find that we not only feel uplifted from doing something we love, we also have more energy than before instead of less. Like, taking the time to do something that makes our hearts happy actually provides an infusion of life force we didn’t have before.

I wanted to take a little ramble through the hopes I set out for 2023, how they ended up becoming reality, and some of what I learned from how they worked out and/or surprised me.

As I mentioned in this week’s Notes from the Garden, I’ve been setting hopes instead of goals or making resolutions, using what I hope for as a framework or outline for what I want my life to be energetically. If you haven’t read it yet, and find yourself curious, here’s the link:

The biggest thing to happen this year was when our darling dog Ginger slipped on the ice in February and tore a ligament in her back right leg, which required surgery to repair. The entire year almost was consumed with helping her prepare for surgery, getting her through surgery and helping her recover. It was long and involved, but actually — weirdly — became the means by which a lot of my hopes for this year came true.

The thing I most want to talk about this week, I guess, is how we don’t always know what’s going to happen, or why, but when we set the intention to learn and to evolve spiritually, our lives give us so many opportunities. Some of these are objectively extremely hard to get through, but hopefully we can look back at them from the other side with gratitude for how they helped us bring about such a deeper understanding of everything our souls are hoping to experience.

What were your hopes going into 2023? I feel like no matter the outcome, the things we hope for, and then how they work out, can teach us so much about how we want to continue. I’d love to hear if any of you have learned anything remarkable this year!
