In this episode, Bree Burick allows herself to be vulnerable and shares for the first time, her story of overcoming severe emotional and verbal abuse at the hands of her father.  She has never voiced any of this out loud to anyone outside of her immediate family.  She admits to feeling anxious but knows that she needs to let go of what she has been pushing down.  Bree is open and honest about the violence she experienced and witnessed in her family.   She explains how  the trauma of her childhood has created tumultuous relationships in her life and has affected the way she relates to others.  Listen to learn how far she has come in this journey and how she plans to continue to grow and move beyond the pain of her childhood.   She admits that she shared these hard truths to help herself to begin the healing process and to help others who may have experienced some kind of trauma that is still hurting them. In this episode, Caroline Gronowski tells us how she started her Yoga Bliss business in the basement of her home after finding a love for yoga.  This group of women, passionate about the benefits of yoga,  grew as they continued to meet together in her basement until a friend encouraged her to open her own yoga studio in Fairlawn 10 years ago.  Three years ago she expanded her business  to a second Yoga Bliss location in Green.  Caroline feels that yoga has improved her life and acknowledges that yoga "makes me happy".   She feels strongly that yoga is a gift and her studios allow people to invest in themselves.  Yoga has taught Caroline that she can do anything she puts her mind to and she gained the insight that she is much stronger than she ever imagined.  She feels  that she has an obligation to shine and share what she loves.  Listen and learn how yoga changed her life and think about changing your own life with the peace and calmness of yoga. 

In this episode, we explore how the expectations we put on ourselves and on others are not always healthy and can actually cause us pain and frustration.  We encourage the idea of  giving ourselves grace and not expecting perfection in ourselves.  Also, we explore how the expectations we put on others can interfere with our own peace and happiness if those expectations are not met.  Learning to assertively share our feelings in the moment and then letting it go lets us be free from hurt others can cause us.  Listen and learn to give grace.

In this interview we bring back one of our beautiful and most listened to guests to share what has been new in her life since the last interview.   She shared how Covid has impacted her life as a teacher,  a mother and a business woman.  She has learned that she can only control some things in her life but sees that most things are out of her control.  She admits that she likes control and this has been a test for her to learn to roll with what life sends her way.  She looks to the future to makes plans for when things return to "normal"  which helps her get through the day to day struggles.  She is honest and open about her own struggles with anxiety and fear of the unknown.  Let her inspire you to grow and evolve even in the most stressful of situations.

In this episode, Laura shares the journey into owning her own business,  "Laura of Pembroke".  She acknowledged that her parents were a huge factor in the success of their businesses.  They set the example for their children  and taught them to go after their dreams with lots of hard work and a passion to find their own way in life.   Laura's parents started the business with her 33 years ago and her brother and sister-in-law joined them in business 25 years ago and became partners.  Laura promotes a compassionate and inclusive work environment for her Team and her clients.  She sees herself as a part of the team and feels that she could not run this business without the support of the wonderful people who work "with" her.  She appreciates that her daughter began working for the team eight years ago  and loves the connection and the day to day working with family who  are all equal partners in the businesses.    Her father set the example when he came to the US with little to start his own business with his brother and grew several businesses into strong and successful ventures.  Just like our previous Cheeky Girl Bosses, Laura has learned to think outside of the box with the help of all of her partners, and they have continued to grow their businesses even during the Covid 19 pandemic.
