This isn't just ancient history; it's a living truth for us today. The Lord formed man first. Only after establishing the man’s leadership did God create the woman. He said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him" (Genesis 2:18). Woman was created to be a powerful complement to man, designed to validate and help fulfill the vision God had already given him.

Guard Your Garden: A Call to Family Leadership.

In family life, understanding the foundational principles of responsibility is paramount. A powerful concept from Genesis is the 'Created Order' and the weight of accountability it establishes within relationships and the home.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam was given a clear mandate. As Wellington Boone's teaching highlights, when faced with a challenge, Adam had a choice: step up or abdicate. The Bible notes in 1 Timothy that "Adam was not the one deceived." This points not to deception, but to a failure in responsibility—an abdication from his God-given role to lead and protect.

• Guarding Your 'Garden': Your personal 'garden' is your thought life, your heart, and your principles. For a husband and wife, this means guarding against distractions or influences that could harm their relationship or family. As parents, it means being intentional about the values and environment you cultivate for your children. We are called to "cast down imaginations" (2 Corinthians 10:5) that challenge the truth and integrity of our calling as spouses and parents.

• The Cost of Abdication: When a husband or wife fails to act—whether it’s addressing a conflict, setting boundaries, or leading by example—it creates a vacuum that can lead to disorder and compromise the family’s unity and vision.

The call to action for every husband, wife, and parent is to take care of business in their own garden—to actively manage their internal world and lead their family with courage and conviction.

Seek God for Solutions with Your Whole Heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says that “you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Admit Your Own Need for Personal Transformation. Repentance, self-awareness, and a willingness to grow are essential steps in becoming a vessel of light.

Step Up and Take Action. Being the light isn’t passive. It’s active. Step into leadership roles, address needs and make the world better because you’re there.

Walk in Christlike Character: Embody the love, grace, and truth of Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Let Christ shine through in your words, decisions, and deeds.

Bring New Light to the Darkness: Instead of cliches and failed social solutions, show the way to transformed character through Christlikeness.

Walk in Your Purpose: Fill the vacuum that has been waiting for you to come to represent Christ and bring His kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.

Did you know you carry a dual legacy?

Understand this: Eve was created to bear the children of the earth, but Mary was chosen to bear the Son who would populate the heavens. As a believer, man or woman, you inherit both legacies. You have the physical lineage of Eve, but spiritually, you carry the legacy of Mary—a capacity to birth something eternal.

Ladies, look closely at Luke 1:30-32. The angel Gabriel didn't appear to Mary by accident. She met a high standard that allowed her to carry greatness in her womb. When you look at your children or your own potential, never dismiss it as ordinary. You didn't carry "stupid" or "average." You carry greatness because, spiritually, your lineage is defined by the favor found in Mary.

God placed a competency in you to nurture life that impacts both earth and heaven. Walk in that authority today.
